2 Dear Friend, If you ve tried to lose weight before then you re probably aware that the fitness industry is largely full of mis-information and often complete lies....for example did you know that calories are virtually useless? Companies literally burn food in a box until it turns to dust to determine the calories in a food. Do you think thats how your body works? Of course not! If it did you would have been born with a calculator on your forearm. Just this little factoid makes it painfully clear why most diet programs flat out fail for losing weight - they get you to count calories (either directly or via points or some other silly invention) when thats not how your body works. The reality of it is....weight loss (or even weight gain) is a complex mixture of hormones, brain chemistry and habits. So to get fast, easy and long term results you absolutely must address these things to succeed. Simply counting calories will not get you very far at all.. But Thats Just One Example! I could go on all day about the myths and mis-information you ve been fed by an industry that has openly admitted on national television that they design their programs to make you fail. 3 11 Ways To Lose Inches From Your Thighs, Tummy & Bum Without Dieting, Boring Exercise & Without Giving Up Your Favourite Foods 1 EAT. REAL. FOOD Slimming companies and fake health food companies want you to believe getting in shape is all about calories. Guess what? They re DEAD WRONG! How much you weigh and the amount of jiggly stuff you carry is determined by your hormones. Eating the highest quality food helps to put this right. If you get this part right then weight loss becomes easy, fast, automatic and best of all: easy to keep for life. Here s a tip for you: starbucks, dominos pizza and ben & jerry s do NOT qualify. Before you feel too deprived though - you CAN eat these foods regularly and still get in shape. I know because I ve done it and so do my clients. 2 FOCUS ON WEIGHT TRAINING The reason is very simple: muscle speeds up your metabolism and burns fat when you re resting. This means you can burn fat even when you are sitting on the sofa! Long duration or distance running or aerobic exercise actually may slow down your metabolic rate over time and only burns fat whilst you are exercising and not after. The best exercises are the ones that use the most muscles in one go which means you ll burn the most fat. Here are some great examples: Squats Deadlifts Bench Press Kettlebells Tyre Flipping Focus on these - or any other weight bearing exercise - and your body will transform. Don t worry though - if you re a woman you wont get bulky like a man. That is not actually possible despite what the magazines tell you ;-) but you will lose inches from your thighs, hips and bum. My recommendation is to get some expert help when learning these exercises because done wrong they can be dangerous! 2
4 3 FOCUS ON PROGRESSION You ve probably hit a weight loss sticking point before, right? Well to avoid that your program must progress to ensure continual results until you reach your goal. This is yet another reason slimming companies and diet books fail - you get one program and there s no progression. Making the right adjustments at the right time is as much an art as it is a science - so hire a professional to overlook your program so you can avoid all the mistakes that people often make. 4 MAKE IT FUN Sounds obvious but if it isn t fun - you won t do it for long. Weight training can be fun when done right and with a professional. But pretty much anything that involves lifting will work! When you consider achieving your dream body could only take 1.5hrs per week (30 minutes 3 x weekly) - its amazing to me people still think they don t have time. So quit being either on or off the plan and learn to eat for your body type, your tastes and your goals.
