A unique way to treat MORNING MIGRAINE AS YOU TAKE ON YOUR DAY See the ONZETRA Xsail difference inside What is ONZETRA Xsail (sumatriptan nasal powder) used for? ONZETRA Xsail is a prescription medication approved for the acute treatment of migraine, with or without aura in adults. ONZETRA Xsail is used for people who have been told by a healthcare provider that they have migraine headaches. ONZETRA Xsail is not for the prevention of migraines or for other types of headaches, including cluster headache. What important information should I know about ONZETRA Xsail? ONZETRA Xsail may cause serious side effects, including: Heart attack and other heart problems, which may lead to death. Stop using ONZETRA Xsail and get emergency medical help right away if you have any symptoms of a heart attack Please see throughout this piece.
All migraines hurt Migraine is a neurological condition. During a migraine attack, your nerves release signals that cause the blood vessels in your brain to expand. This may result in: Painful throbbing Nausea and vomiting Sensitivity to light and noise Migraines are very common. More than 39 million people in the United States get migraine attacks But a MIGRAINE IN THE MORNING can be a real pain There s never a good time for a migraine, but a migraine in the morning can disrupt your day before it starts. ALMOST half of all migraine attacks start between 4 AM and 9 AM 7 10 out of PEOPLE surveyed have been awakened by a migraine Whether you re juggling work and family, or you re just someone who can t be slowed down, you need a treatment that will help you move past your migraine pain as you get on with your day. Migraines can last from 4 to 72 hours Please see throughout this piece. What important information should I know about ONZETRA Xsail? ONZETRA Xsail may cause serious side effects, including: Heart attack and other heart problems, which may lead to death. Stop using ONZETRA Xsail and get emergency medical help right away if you have any symptoms of a heart attack like shortness of breath or tightness, pain, pressure, or heaviness in your chest, throat, neck, or jaw that is severe or does not go away
A DIFFERENT WAY TO TREAT MORNING MIGRAINE A morning migraine can make it diffi cult to start your day. If you experience nausea and vomiting with the pain, taking an oral medication, like a pill, may be hard. That s why ONZETRA Xsail, a non-oral treatment that works fast, may be an option for you. ONZETRA Xsail isn t a pill, a nasal spray, or an injection. It s a unique way to treat morning migraine. Sumatriptan, the active ingredient in ONZETRA, is the most-prescribed migraine medication, and has been used safely and effectively for more than 20 years. ONZETRA Xsail may cause serious side effects, including: Changes in color or sensation in your fingers and toes (Raynaud s syndrome) Stomach and intestinal problems (gastrointestinal and colonic ischemic events) Problems with blood circulation to your legs and feet (peripheral vascular ischemia) Serious allergic reactions (symptoms include hives; tongue, mouth, lip, or throat swelling; problems breathing) Please see throughout this piece. ONZETRA Xsail can help you move past your morning migraine as you take on your day. Medication overuse headaches. Some people who use ONZETRA Xsail too many times may have worse headaches. If your headaches get worse your doctor may decide to stop your treatment with ONZETRA Xsail Serotonin syndrome, a rare but serious problem that can happen in people using ONZETRA Xsail, especially if ONZETRA Xsail is used with antidepressant medicines called SSRIs, SNRIs, or TCAs. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the following symptoms of serotonin syndrome: mental changes such as seeing things that are not there (hallucinations), agitation, or coma; fast heartbeat; changes in blood pressure; high body temperature; tight muscles; trouble walking; or nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
The ONZETRA Xsail difference: Breath powered delivery You can treat your morning migraine with ONZETRA Xsail as soon as you wake up How it works ONZETRA Xsail allows you to control the delivery of your medication. The unique device uses the power of your own breath to deliver medicine directly to the back of your nose it s sumatriptan taken differently! ONZETRA Xsail may cause serious side effects, including: Seizures. Seizures have happened in people taking sumatriptan who have never had seizures before The most common side effects of ONZETRA Xsail are abnormal taste, discomfort of your nose or throat, runny nose, and stuffy nose. This is not a complete list of side effects. Tell your doctor about any side effect that bothers you or does not go away. Please see throughout this piece. Why it works The back of your nose is full of absorbent tissue and blood vessels, so the powder medication is quickly absorbed. Breath Powered delivery also limits medication from dripping into your throat or reaching your stomach or lungs.
the power to take on your morning migraine FAST relief 30 minutes: Almost half of migraine sufferers had signifi cant pain relief in 30 minutes (42% vs 27% on placebo) AS YOU GET ON WITH YOUR DAY That can LAST 48 hours: More than 60% of people who used ONZETRA did not take additional medication through 48 hours (63% vs 48% on placebo) EFFECTIVE relief 2 hours: About 70% of migraine sufferers had signifi cant pain relief at 2 hours (68% vs 45% on placebo) Who should not take ONZETRA Xsail? Do not take ONZETRA Xsail or stop using ONZETRA Xsail if you: Have heart problems or a history of heart problems Have had a stroke, transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), or problems with your blood circulation Have uncontrolled high blood pressure Have hemiplegic migraines or basilar migraines. If you are not sure if you have these, ask your doctor Have peripheral vascular disease (narrowing of blood vessels to the legs, arms, stomach, intestines, or kidneys) Have taken other migraine medications in the last 24 hours, including other triptans, ergots, or ergot-type medications. Ask your doctor for a list of these medicines if you are not sure Are taking a medicine called a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI). MAOIs cannot be taken within 14 days before or after taking ONZETRA Xsail Have severe liver problems Have an allergy to sumatriptan, the medicine in ONZETRA Xsail, or any of the components in ONZETRA Xsail Please see throughout this piece.
ONZETRA is WELL TOLERATED The most common side effects reported by people using ONZETRA were: A mild metallic taste (no patient stopped taking ONZETRA due to taste) Nasal discomfort Runny or stuffy nose Less than 2% of migraine attacks treated with ONZETRA resulted in triptan sensations, the most common side effect of triptans, which include uncomfortable chest pressure and tightness Triptan sensations are usually not caused by a heart condition. They include: paraesthesias (tingling or numbness of the skin), fl ushing, neck pain, and mild, transient chest pressure. None of these events were serious or led people to discontinue ONZETRA. However, if you have heart problems or a history of heart problems, be sure to tell your doctor before using ONZETRA. These are not all the possible risks of ONZETRA. Tell your doctor about any side effect that bothers you or does not go away. For additional about ONZETRA Xsail, please see enclosed Patient Information including Instructions for Use. What should I tell my healthcare provider before taking ONZETRA Xsail?
