3 INTERNATIONAL DOMOTICS SYSTEM International Domotics System CHORUS is the GEWISS international domotic system for Home & Building Automation that allows the implementation of a wide range of functions (light control, climate control, burglar alarm, etc.) choosing among various technologies (conventional, RF and KNX Bus). Thanks to the integration of these technologies the following systems can be implemented: - for apartments, where only basic functions are requested (domestic range, basic domotics) - for more technological homes, where cutting-edge technologies are required to meet even the most demanding requests (Home Automation) - for commercial sector buildings, where an open and reliable technology is required (Building Automation) 3

20 CHORUS MODULAR DEVICES Unlimited functions in reduced space Limited spaces no longer restrict the number of devices that can be installed. With the same available space in fact, the ½-module commands increase the number of command points that can be installed and allow even reduced spaces to be better exploited. The 2- and 3-module button keys ensure rapid localization of the point and easy activation. Quick coupling The front coupling of the devices makes the support assembly and release operations quick and easy, facilitating the assembly and wiring phases even after the frame has been fixed onto the box. The solidity of the frame guarantees the best performance also on not completely smooth surfaces. Half module pitch The supports are characterized by a half module pitch that allows both the assembly of the innovative compact commands and the 2- or 3-module plates on the same frame. 20

21 CHORUS MODULAR DEVICES Reduced overall dimensions and easy wiring All the commands are very shallow (starting from 20 mm), to facilitate installation even in boxes with less spaces. Wiring is simplified thanks to the position of the terminals and the increased diameter of the holes. The double cut screws permit improved tightening of the terminals. Standard communication protocol KNX is the European standard for transmitting and managing data in building automation. The KNX bus is an open solution, and as such offers a significant guarantee of interoperability (i.e. compatibility between KNX products made by different manufacturers). The KNX standard complies with the European standard EN50090 and the world standard ISO/IEC Modification adaptability and flexibility The KNX bus devices are programmed with ETS (EIB Tool Software), a special software that allows you to create the logic connections necessary in order to produce the required functions. With simple software modification, it is possible at any time to assign different functions to the various devices installed without having to modify or intervene on the product wiring. The supervisors Master ICE and Naxos Domo/Combi panels offer the total control of the home, thanks to the KNX bus connection: the devices allow the home automation functions to be integrated with wireless commands, videocontrol and video entryphone systems, burglar alarms, etc. The supervisors are based on an intuitive graphic interface that make the home control easy, immediate and within everyone s reach. 38 CITY VISION CITY VISION is the new range that completes the Gewiss selection of video entryphones and domotics, enabling the creation of complete, practical systems ranging from the individual home to the most extended residential complexes, from a simple entryphone to integration with the KNX domotic system. 2-wire technology The system is based on proven 2-wire technology, used to transmit (with analogue modulation) both the audio and video signals. Together with these two signals, the cable also provides the power supply for indoor positions. Thanks to the nonpolarised BUS, the wiring is especially fast and user-friendly. IP extension/lan 2-wire technology is not only used for the upright but generally for creating the backbone of a video entryphone system. In the case of particularly complex or extended systems however, the backbone is created with video entryphone devices called IP EXTENSION that exploit the LAN network infrastructures (specific or shared). The result is a robust, limit-free system with a strong progressive layout. Integration with domotics Thanks to the Naxos Combi combined panels that act as both indoor video entryphone positions and KNX domotic system supervisors, the video entryphone world integrates perfectly with the Gewiss domotics range. 42 DIGITAL VISION A complete system offering a wide range of advanced entryphone and video entryphone solutions. Extremely simple to install and configure, it can be perfectly integrated with KNX domotics, and is also suitable for large systems. IP technology The new digital video entryphone system, based on the IP protocol, ensures high quality, reliable communication and allows both the power supply, the audio/video signals and data to be transmitted on a single LAN/Ethernet cable (Cat. 5e or higher). The system It is possible to have up to 8 front door units and up to 640 apartment units distributed among 160 apartments, with a max. of 4 units each. Up to a 16 telecameras for video control. Video entryphones and front door units can be connected together according to a freely configured diagram thanks to Ethernet switches that distribute the digital audio/video signal and provide the electrical power supply. Practicality Digital Vision offers advanced functions without the need for accessories or special configurations: multi-channel, intercom with other units in the same apartment or other apartments, call transfer to another apartment, porter s desk, video mail, office function, privacy function, handsfree function, baby monitoring and video control. 42
