6 The aims of the Werry Centre are: To improve the mental health of New Zealand infants, children and young people by providing training of a high quality to mental health professionals; promoting research in child and adolescent mental health; advocating for mental health needs of children and adolescents in New Zealand; and supporting the child and adolescent mental health workforce nationally.

15 REAL SKILLS PLUS ICAMHS/AOD The framework defines the skills and attitudes required by practitioners working within infant, child and adolescent mental health settings. The second edition of the framework launched in 2014 includes a primary level for primary health practitioners An online version is about to be trialled by 4 services around the country
16 ONLINE TRAINING
17 COPMIA The guideline for supporting children of parents with mental illness and/ or addiction issues (COPMIA), and families and whanau is expected to be launched by the Ministry of Health on 29 th September COPMIA resources are available on the Werry Centre website CHOICE AND PARTNERSHIP APPROACH In 2014, 60 people from across the sector attended the National Choice and Partnership forum. Resources to support Choice and Partnership implementation are being developed including a resource for Kaupapa Maori services.
18 YOUTH CONSUMER & FAMILY/WHANAU INITIATIVES A key focus for the Werry Centre has been to support youth consumer advisors nationally through providing information and resources and employing Youth Advisors to advise on Werry Centre project work and related activity
19 INCREDIBLE YEARS PARENT WORKFORCE PROGRAMME Aims to build and maintain a sustainable workforce of trained and skilled group leaders offering Incredible Years parent programmes nationally. Involves training and ongoing skills support in ICAMHS and NGO sector Around 1200 group leaders now trained Particular focus on growing and supporting the Māori and Pacific workforce Significant positive impact on families throughout New Zealand due to the increased sector capacity and capability to deliver an evidence-based programme (IY long-term outcomes study, Ministry of Social Development, August 2014).

21 PRIMARY CARE TRIPLE P The Werry Centre provides coordination and implementation support to the Triple P Positive Parenting Program being piloted across four DHB regions (Waitemata, Counties Manukau, Midcentral and Bay of Plenty). In training workshops held 450 primary care practitioners trained 3000 parents and caregivers have participated
