1 Kaleidoscope A Monthly bulletin Rotaract Club of Kathmandu Mid-Town Charter date: 5th Nov Sponsoring Club: Rotary Club of Kathmandu Mid-Town R I District Twin clubs: Rotaract Club of Dharan Ghopa & Rotaract Club of Sainbu Bhaisenpati June 2011/12 Issue : th Rota year Monthly messages from RI President Kalyan Banerjee June 2012 June is a time to reflect on the Rotary year that has nearly passed, and to look forward to the one that is soon to begin. We look back at what we have accomplished and measure our progress toward the goals we have set for ourselves. In Rotary, we may pause to reflect, but never to rest on our laurels for as much as we have achieved, we are always aware of how much there is still to do. The year has been a time of significant progress. But most of all, we found our hearts warmed by the welcome we received all over the world and by the sight of so many Rotarians living the Rotary ideal, and choosing to Reach Within to Embrace Humanity. I thank you for the opportunity to serve as your president, and look forward to working together to build Peace Through Service. RI President elect Sakuji Tanaka RI President-elect Sakuji Tanaka said : Peace, in all of the ways that we can understand it, is a real goal and a realistic goal for Rotary Peace is not something that can only be achieved through agreements, by governments, or through heroic struggles. It is something that we can find and that we can achieve, every day and in many simple ways." Peace has different meanings for different people, Tanaka said. "No definition is right, and no definition is wrong," he said. "However we use the word, this is what peace means for us. "No matter how we use, or understand the word, Rotary can help us to achieve it," he added. "I realized that by helping others, even in the simplest of ways, I could help to build peace," Tanaka said. Kaleidoscope A Monthly Bulletin Issue 12, Page 1 of 10

9 Dear Friends and Well Wishers! The end of June marks the end of each current President for their respective Rota-Year. I am no exception for this. On looking back when I was handed the responsibility by my Past Presidents to lead the club was in itself a historical and an emotional moment for me. I am gratified to Rtr. Anil Chaudhary for handing over the leadership and to all the Past Presidents; you are all very special and close to my heart. I now excitedly await my turn to transfer the same responsibility to yet another young and dynamic Rotaract, none other than Rtr Kishor. I wish him all the best while assuring him of my full support throughout his tenure. The year was full of challenge but we were really charged and gave our best. The love and affection the full hearted support from all made the year enjoyable and successful. A big "SALUTE" and LOVE" to all. Working together hand in hand was one of the precious, memorable and unforgettable moments of my life for which I am thankful to all, thus we were able to make our club Kathmandu Mid Town as one of the outstanding clubs of Rotaract fraternity in RID 3292 Nepal for RY We were able to achieve a lot of meaningful service projects in all the avenues for which we have been recognized. We gained additional strength by developing vibrant fellowship within and outside of the club along with goodwill visits and joint projects with other clubs of Rotaract and Rotary. Board members while hosting meetings made special effort to include us with their family thus supporting RI president Rtn Kalyan Banerjee message of family first. Hosting of 1 st Presidents-Secretaries Meet," successfully, along with various International events e.g Ro-trek rafting, strong support of Rotasia, Club salutation, bookmark, card, pin and cultural box exchange programs helped in establishing relation with International clubs. Notable achievements made during the year are projects with Rotary club of Landshut Germany, Rotarians of Canada and other International clubs of Rotary fraternity. All were achieved through combined effort with still more endeavor of the initiators, however to develop ourselves and the community to optimum we should work on the theme "Learn, Unlearn and Relearn." I am very thankful to all the contact organizations, SAP areas, media houses, national and International contemporary Rotaract clubs, and all other direct and indirect hands for their support. Last but not the least, my appreciation and gratitude to the Rotarians of our parent club with special thanks to those who have gone out of their way to support the effort of Ktm Mid Town Rotaract, by being a special friend. The role of our Mentor Rtn. Dr. Chandra Lekha Tuladhar ma'am who was indeed a mother to me through out the year whose words were always a motivational to me and my team. I strongly believe no adjective will be enough to explain her support, advice, love, care and "Afnopan." I have a "huge respect" for our ma'am. Thank you one and all; this Rota-Year has been a huge success through combined effort. With Love, Rtr. Samir Nepal President I Love to be a Rotaractor! Kaleidoscope A Monthly Bulletin Issue 12, Page 9 of 10

10 My congratulation to President Rtr. Samir Nepal and his team for the outstanding success in Rota year I, Rtr. Kishor Acharya would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the past President, members and mentor Ma am for having faith in me and entrusting me with the responsibility of a President for this Rota year of 2012/13. I along with my team assure all to do our best to uphold the legacy and raise it up to still newer heights and yes we do need your constant support at all times. The Rotary wheel is in motion for another Rota year, a new enthusiastic and energetic team is all charged ready to uplift the Rotaract movement. The challenge to maintain the legend of the club is indeed great but over the years and even today, we are lucky to have the constant backing and guidance with a very special mother relationship with Ma am our mentor we are re-bonding our good relationship with Parent Rotary Club, we have a strong support and guidance of brotherhood and sisterhood from our Past Presidents we have a fond relationship with our Interact clubs. we are privileged to have developed a friendly and confident relationship with the community in our SAP area we have and are in the process of developing further cross country relation with International friends Thus with all the above support enhanced with co-operation of the new committee and all the club members, we are confident that we shall be able carry out Fellowship through Service successfully. Following the theme of our DRR Rtr. Bikesh adds Say, stay and Strive we shall ask each one to be involved sincerely to multiply the effort of the Rotaract movement to achieve the maximum. RI President Sakuji Tanaka has asked all to work for Peace through Service during the Year We the youth of Nepal, shall strive to achieve this in all our action, working for inner peace and helping others to develop it as well, always adopting the giving nature with concern for the needy and the disadvantaged and working development. Lastly, I am very thankful to editorial team for their effort on timely release of the entire bulletin. Rtr. Kishor Acharya President Rota year Teams work can make all dreams a reality. Editor: Rtr.
