1 LIONS CLUB OF KANDIVALI WESTERN EXPRESS LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT 323 A JUNE 2011 FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT FROM THE EDITOR S DESK Dear Lions, It is a privilege of being the editor to the Lions club of KWE. It is coming to an end. I thank all my fellow Lions for the co operation and very big thanks to Ln. Vaidyanathan, Ln Kavita Agarwal and Ln. Vijay Agarwal for tolerating me in thisposition. Change is the way of development and also part of the nature. Change in nature allows the new spring to come and accordingly incoming new team always comes with a fresh idea, a better way to work the things may be in a much better way. We have undergone an extreme eventful year in Lionism. Big achievements, great success and more over at the end... Realisation of the facts, understanding the realities finally digesting the truth and situation. Friends, we are all different human beings by nature and all are strong individuals having the same mind set towards service to the community. The approach may be different but at the end of the day let us not forget we are all in to Lionism and all of us are Lions. I conclude by thanking you all to be the part of our club which is seeing new highs and wish all the best to the new board. At the onset, my heartiest congratulations to the bulletin editor, Lion Narayan Akadas, for release of our club 3 RD bulletin on this installation day. The 1st E-Bulletin released in March 2011 was a wonderful effort on the part of the editor and his team and an experience worth noting in the history of our club. I am certain this bulletin will continue to reflect the need based work our club has undertaken so far along with other activities. Our club having received the coveted Excellence Challenger Service Week and Gold Satellite Service Week awards is now poised for achieving greater heights. I am sure with your continued support our club can be seen in the forefront in a few years time. Dear Members, the entire District has been appreciating the excellent fellowship that our members have been exhibiting in every function with large participation, and I hope you will continue to do so in the coming years also. While we should continue with our service activities, now is the time for us to look into the possibility of inducting new quality members in our club. As membership is by invitation only, keep an eye for people interested in carrying out the world class service activities in line with Lions International and build the image of our club and Lions International. I am sure each member will introduce at least two members every year so that slowly and steadily we can be proud to be a big lions club in the near future. This being the last bulletin for this lionistic year, I wish to convey my thanks to one and all the members for your sincere and wholehearted support in carrying out the club activities successfully. I can proudly say I have successfully completed the year with your support and you made it possible. Lastly I Congratulate Lion Neeraj Golas for accepting to be the next President and along with his able and experienced team will lead the club to reach further heights. I wish the new team all the very best for a successful and eventful Lionistic year Regards, Lion Dr. Kavita Agarwal President - KWE Dear Ln. Narayan Akadas, Bulletin Editor,
2 APRIL 2011 On 15 th April our club donated Rs.5,000/- to Leo Club as part of youth development and assit them to conduct their Leo Annual District Conference. On 10 th April 12 members from our attended the 21 st Annual District conference at Bhaidas Hall. On 30 th April and 1 st May 8 members from our club attended the Multiple District Conference at Ahmedabad. MAY 2011 On 15 th May our club enjoyed a good fellowship regular meeting at Hotel Chola where everyone enjoyed a game of housie. On 17 th May our club donated a water purifier worth Rs.6,000/- to Municipal S.K. Hospital at Malad. Dear Lions, Congratulations to Bulletin Editor Ln. Narayan Akadas for successful journey. Attitude and Responsibility made me the Leader. There are two options in life One is to wait for the things to happen or, second make the things to happen. I gave priority to the 2 nd option with full zeal & vigour. Over the span of two years since inception, our colleagues in Lionism made the things to happen in such a beautiful way, we are enriched with Move to Grow Gold Trophy as the Best Club and excellence trophy during OSW & SSW in the last 2 years. Consistency of progress shown under the leadership of Charter President Ln. V. Vaidyanathan and Ln. Dr. Kavita Agarwal by way of doing multiple activities and fellowship with your support and co-operation has now become a challenge to the incoming leaders in time to come. Congratulations, Ln. Neeraj Golas and his team as they are fully charged to take over their new ideas & devotions to lead the club to greater heights with support of our dedicated members. Yours in Lionism MJF Ln. Dr. VIJAY AGARWAL
