8 Introduction to Transactional Analysis (TA101) Brought to you by the Wellington Transactional Analysis Institute. Transactional Analysis is a method of understanding our own internal world and our interactions with others. It is widely used in psychotherapy, counselling, organisational work and in education. The TA101 is a general introduction to Transactional Analysis and is open to anyone wishing to learn more about the human condition. It is also a prerequisite for people wishing to enrol in professional training courses offered by various Transactional Analysis Training Institutes locally, nationally and internationally, that may lead to Certification as a Transactional Analyst. 9 Join the Walk 2 D'Feet MND Join the Walk 2 D Feet MND Walk 2 D Feet MND events are being held in 18 towns and cities all over New Zealand on Sunday 11 November. Previous years walks have been a huge success, with enthusiastic participation from those who have supported someone with motor neurone disease (MND), current and past caregivers, and those now living with MND themselves. MND causes the muscles that enable us to move, speak, swallow and breathe to gradually stop working. It is an extraordinarily debilitating disease, and it can be very isolating for people with MND and their carers. The Walk 2 D'Feet MND events powerfully show people affected by MND they aren't alone. As you know, working with a person with MND can leave a lasting impression, and many people who have helped people with MND in a professional capacity like to attend these walks. The Walk 2 D Feet MND is the annual fundraiser for MND New Zealand. The money raised will be used to foster research into MND, and help MND New Zealand continue its vital free support service. Fundraising from the Walk 2 D Feet MND in the past has led to the establishment of the New Zealand MND Registry, the New Zealand MND Research Network, a report on the use of medicinal cannabis for people with MND and multiple sclerosis, and the employment of an additional support team member for the South Island. The Walk 2 D Feet MND events connect and empower people and families who are facing a tremendous challenge. If MND has touched your life, we recommend going along to one of these positive, powerful, colourful and life-affirming walks. Go to mndwalk.org.nz to register and donate. The healing power of even the most microscopic exchange with someone who knows in a flash precisely what you re talking about because she experienced that thing too cannot be overestimated. Cheryl Strayed About MND New Zealand MND New Zealand works with people living with MND to enable them to have the best quality of life possible. Their support team members are the only people who provide consistent, personalised support through all stages of the disease. Only 8% of MND New Zealand s funding comes from the Ministry of Health. It depends upon fundraising and donations to continue its crucial free support service for people with MND and their families. New Zealand Association of Counsellors All rights reserved. 12 2 Day Seminar: Abuse and Sexual Violence Not to be missed if you are a professional working with children or adults affected by mental health issues and experiences of sexual abuse and/or violence. With New Zealand's significantly high rates of family violence, this type of information sharing is valuable to the effectiveness of the work we, as practitioners, engage in everyday. Presented by Selena Needham, HEART Counselling. 13 Group Schema Therapy: An Introduction for Personality Disorder, Complex Trauma, and Other Challenging Populations Course Details: This course is designed for therapists with some familiarity with the schema therapy model to learn how to apply schema therapy in group settings. Joan & Ida have authored several Schema Therapy books and training DVDs. This is a great opportunity to learn group schema therapy from the originators of the approach. 14 Experiencing Schema Therapy from the Inside-Out: Workshop for Therapists Course Details: In Schema Therapy (ST) therapist qualities are central to the therapeutic technique in providing limited re-parenting and a working model of a 'healthy adult'. An important part of training for Schema Therapists therefore is self-therapy and reflection to understand and manage one s own underlying schemas and modes. 15 Level 2 Advanced Schema Therapy Training "Beyond the Basics" Course Content: This workshop will assist those with some background in Schema Therapy in developing and fine-tuning their skills and overcoming treatment roadblocks.
