Leon, NCFIIA President Fellow Members, Where has the time gone? It is June already and the new IIA year has begun. I am honored to be serving you as the President of the North Central Florida Chapter for the next 12 months. I was afforded a chance to attend the IIA Leadership Conference with Lisa Dalrymple, Vice President, in May. Both of us learned a lot from the conference and came back home excited to serve the Chapter! Please allow me to take time and thank Lily Reinhart, now the Immediate Past President, for her dedication to the Chapter. She has served as President twice already, and we can t thank her enough for stepping up to the plate when we needed her. She has also served as the Newsletter Editor and Program Committee Chair as well. Wallace retired on May 15, 2015 and is now busy setting up his new home! Wallace s service to the Chapter starts from being one of the founding members of this Chapter, serving as President, staying on the Board for many years, the Newsletter Editor, and until recently as the Communications Chair. He continues to send important messages and updates through the Chapter Facebook and Twitter accounts. Thank you, Wallace, for your dedication and years of service. Heather May graciously accepted the Communications Chair position, so you will be receiving all Chapter communications from her in the future. Thank you, Heather! 3 Volume 13 Issue 2 June 2015 May was Internal Audit Awareness Month The North Central Florida Chapter outdid themselves this year in promoting internal audit awareness month. Not only did members participate in three city/county government proclamations they also celebrated with three cakes! Even Governor Rick Scott gave recognition to internal auditors! Page 3

4 Audit Tales May 27, 2015 Roundtable Meeting: Attorney Client Privilege Thank you to John Byrd and Tonya Carrigan from UF Health Shands for leading a discussion on attorney client privilege. They shared how to maintain attorney client privilege and possible scenarios that could compromise the privilege.
