1 NEWSLETTER AUGUST 2017 Fund raiser activity : A musical theatre Prashanti Cancer Care Mission on 16th Sept will be presenting Three Women A musical theatre production soon to be adapted into a feature film a play by Isheeta Ganguly at 7 pm at The Sussie Sorbaji Auditorium, opposite Central building, next to BJ Medical Hostel. This play is a fund raiser to raise funds for the underprivileged Breast Cancer Patients For donation passes contact: Ms. Laleh Busheri Ms. Ruhi Reddy
2 Renovation of Day Care Ms. Ritu Chhabria trustee of Mukul Madhav Foundation. A generous donation from Fenolix CSR and Mukul Madhav Foundation has being given to renovate the existing chemotherapy day care so as to make patients more comfortable during their treatment. A big thank you to her from all the patients who will be availing their therapy in a comfortable and pleasant setup
3 18 Awareness Talks held this month: Pick of the month Thermax This is the 2 nd awareness talk at Thermax. The 1 st talk was held for the women and this time it was for the men, the talk was on Most prominent Cancer in Indian Population. It addressed oral, colon, rectal, lung cancers sign symptoms, myth and preventive measures. Prashanti Youth Wing Prashanti is glad to announce the inception of its Youth Wing. Prashanti Youth Wing is aimed at providing unique opportunities for socially conscious individuals to contribute towards welfare of society members with volunteers from across the globe and engage with the mission s activities. 4 In the pink of health: creme magzine What is bigger than two charitable trust coming together on the occasion of International Yoga Day? Laleh Busheri presenting Prashanti Cancer Care Mission and Ritu Chabbria heading Mukul Madhav Foundation, the CSR partner of Finolex Industries came together to create awareness about benefits of yoga specifically for cancer patients.
5 Visit by Students of USA : Student exchange program Students from University of Norway and Penn State University (USA) visited India as a part of student exchange program to Interdisciplinary School of Health Science, Savitribai Phule Pune University. As part of field activity to orient themselves about public health projects in India, they visited Prashanti Cancer Care Mission. The students participated in discussion and demonstration on community outreach activities conducted by PCCM. They visited camps and awareness talks conducted by primary health workers and were accompanied by Professor Anita Kar and Associated Professor Dr. Abhay Kudale (SPPU) accompanied the students Testimonial of the month : Mrs. Saroj Potdar Patient Name: Mrs. Saroj Potdar

I was diagnosed Rt Breast Cancer when it was in 2nd stage. This news itself was a nightmare for me and my family. We were in great distress about how to deal with this disease. Dr. Koppiker and his entire team and Prashanti Cancer Care Mission has been with me and my family throughout. My entire treatment of surgery and chemotherapy worth Rs. 6,64,000 was done free of cost. I was very tensed regarding chemocycles, hair loss, adverse effects but a family like staff of Orchids helped me cope up with my fears and got me through this deadly disease. A very special thanks to Dr. Koppiker and Ms. Laleh Busheri, entire staff and supportive team of Prashanti Cancer Care Mission for their support and availability at every step of my journey through this disease.
