Congratulations to our Woman of the Year Angie Mitchell a message from our president November is the month of thankfulness. I am thankful to be surrounded by such inspirational business women with ABWA. What are you thankful for? Speaking of thanks, be sure to let Mary Ellerman know that you appreciate her representing our Chapter at the National Board of Directors meeting in Kansas. Mary, we are so proud of you. This month starts our Fall Membership Recruitment Event for November and December. We will offer one $25 gift card to the member who recruits the most new members in November and or December. The gift card will be presented at the January meeting. Prospects who join our For it is in giving that we receive. 4 ABWA Chapter Minutes October 27, 2015 Meeting called to order: 6:00 pm by Alison Frech, President Members present: 22 Guests present: 8 Program: The Art of Marketing In The 21st Century by Bob Cuckler, CEO, L5 Technologies. Business Meeting: Alison asked if there were any additions or changes to the September 2015 minutes, none were noted so they were ratified and accepted as ed. Alison asked if there were any additions or changes to the September Financials, none were noted so they were ratified and accepted as presented at the meeting. Alison asked for a motion to approve the proposed Chapter Standing Rules as amended which was made by Eileen Kotula and seconded by Terre Munk. After a discussion, it was generally agreed to table the motion until the November meeting with the following suggested changes made to the current document: add, eligible members will have 100% of early conference registration fee paid by the Chapter. Omit the $5 for first time guests: in the Chapter Standing Rules to give the chapter flexibility to withdraw the offer if needed. Alison presented the Chapter Budget for review. Alison presented a proposal recommend by the board to hire Jon Perry, President of Imaginary Friends that is located in Yuma to update our current chapter website with an engaging user interface that will attract local business women to explore more of what ABWA has to offer. The website will have event registration and online payment options. The cost of the proposal is a one-time fee of $2,100. A motion to accept the proposal as presented was made by Angie Olberding and seconded by Ashley Herrington. 11 members voted yes and two members voted no. Motion carried. 5 ABWA Executive Minutes-November 3, 2015 Meeting called to Order at 11:30 a.m. Those in attendance: Alison Frech, Karen McCafferty, Terre Munk and Mary Williams. The October 27, 2015 general meeting minutes were reviewed. There were no additions and/or corrections to the minutes. The program for November is entitled, Team Building for Business and will be presented by John Courtis, Director, Yuma County Chamber of Commerce. The Chapter Standing Rules as amended by the Board and members at the October meeting will be presented again at the November meeting. Alison received the ABWA Friendship award for recruiting 3 members. Karen said that Women s Health is partnering with us for the 2016 Women s Expo. Early registration for last year s Expo vendors will be held in November. The meeting adjourned at 1:30 pm. Also, please remember that when you do not attend a meeting to which you ve RSVP d, our chapter must still pay for that meal and you are responsible for reimbursing the chapter for that expense.
