1 Millions WHOLE OF SYRIA PROTECTION SECTOR RESPONSE (as of 30 April 2017) This analysis provides a snapshot of the protection response as a whole, including information on geographical coverage and progress against 2017 HRP targets based on 4W reporting. 2 Response to Besieged communities during 2017 Besieged locations: 16 besieged communities were reached with protection interventions in April out of 33 besieged communities as shown in the table and the map below, have had response interventions in 2017 (total of 256,475 interventions, 61,112 interventions are only in April 2017). This includes 254,071 in Rural Damascus, 109,274 in Tartous and 88,896 in Idleb governorates. The has reached at least 793,291 persons with at least one protection intervention this year. The number of persons reached with at least one intervention certainly underreports the total number of persons receiving protection interventions.
