See attached report Mitzi Dean for Better at Home : we need to be clear about community priorities and what are the gaps in support services locally and these Liz Jenkins will be an alternate for Linda Nehra at Partners for Better health meetings.

Linda is about to embark on a study of 40 seniors in Sooke to assess the gaps in services and care (funded by D of S), and will meet with Emma James and Liz Jenkins. This will put us in a stronger position with Better at Home for application. SIDFP Partners for Better Health: committee is changing fairly quickly, most people have an alternate as participation is key, and Liz Jenkins is willing to be an alternate for Linda when she is away in November. The role of the community person is

4 evolving. GP for me proposal from SIDFP has been submitted and is being reviewed by the committee currently. One of the key pillars is the primary medical home for the Sooke region, Saanich and Westshore. Administrative update Service Agreement D of S (deliverables, who is responsible) Insurance Financial report Request from Another key pillar is building links with FPs into the FN HA teamlets to build FN connection, and to develop cultural competency training online thru PHSA for physicians and MOAs. Grand Cookoff: uncertain who is coordinating this details TBD volunteers needed D of S funding is focussed on 4 main areas 1. PHCWG 2. Engaging youth and seniors in development of a community center. Some concerns about CHI remaining neutral on the upcoming referendum on the community centre funding bylaw. The draft Let s get it built report is due

5 Oceanside health Network for a guest to attend their meeting 3. Age friendly community status. 4. Volunteer initiatives. today and will be circulated to interested CHI members today for review. CHI will remain entirely neutral in the discussion of the bylaw referendum. Oceanside health network would like a CHI member to attend one of their meetings on a Monday from 3-5 pm to discuss the development of a community health network as a grassroots organization. We are willing to host an Oceanside member to attend one of our CHI meetings in Sooke. Play about mental health issues MH plays available to local communities, but have to guarantee a 2000$ amount to the organization The finances would preclude us doing this at this time.
