How we do things differently Leading with a unique perspective Everything changes when you think from a user's perspective. Users' ambitions drive us seeing the context of their lives, not just their conditions. With this broader perspective, recognising the importance of quality of life, we can develop the products and services that move care forward. We lead for the people who are counting on us. Users and healthcare professionals look to us for leadership and count on our strength in each of the areas below. Medical What are the medical needs created by my condition? Personal Can I be an active part of my treatment? Social Beyond my medical needs, how does my condition impact my life? Societal What is the overall impact of my condition and treatment within the healthcare system and society as a whole? Societal Social Personal Medical Fighting for better care Understanding users lives in full Supporting beyond expectations Creating life-changing products and services Understanding users' lives in full Engaging users and truly understanding their lives through research, from global quantitative studies to in-depth, personal discussions and extensive product testing in everyday use. Creating life-changing products and services Translating user insights, technical breakthroughs and design thinking into products and services that redefine care. Supporting beyond expectations Anticipating needs and taking actions that exceed the expectations of users and healthcare professionals, both in person and on the phone, creating a community of support. Fighting for better care Together with partners around the world, we are fighting to improve the availability and standard of care for people with intimate healthcare needs

Access to Healthcare Celebrating 10 years of partnerships to improve intimate healthcare worldwide Mr. Feng and more than 1,200 other patients have avoided amputation due to the first of several Chinese wound care projects supported by Access to Healthcare. Access to Healthcare is a Coloplast-sponsored partnership programme that brings together practitioners, users, NGOs and other public and private partners to support better intimate healthcare globally through education, advocacy and partnership. In 2017, the Access to Healthcare (AtH) programme marks its 10th anniversary. On this occasion, the programme has been made permanent with the ambition of leaving a positive, lasting impact on the standard of care within ostomy care, continence care and wound care, globally. Thanks to the dedication of partners and Coloplast staff, the programme can now celebrate: 46 projects since 2008 Presence in 11 countries Raising the standard of wound care in China Until a few years ago, China only had a few wound care units or hospital wards staffed with healthcare professionals specialising in wound care. The situation was especially critical due to the rising number of diabetics in the country. The treatment available for diabetic foot ulcers was often inadequate, with no systematic examination and evaluation before treatment. Treatment quality was inconsistent and basically depended on the doctor a patient consulted. And specialists and Multiple Disciplinary Teams (MDTs) were not brought in during the course of treatment. Laying the foundation for improved care The first AtH-supported wound care project in China was the China Programme of Training and Education on the Treatment of Diabetic Foot and Relevant Chronic Wounds from 2010 to During the course of this programme, wound care centres in China improved considerably, benefiting over 4,900 patients with diabetic feet in the cumulative term. After the first project, Coloplast decided to support the establishment of two wound care Centres of Excellence and the training of specialist doctors. In 2014, the wound care team at Coloplast China partnered with a team of doctors specialising in wound care. Working with the European Wound Management Association (EWMA), the team created a process and a set of requirements that would enable a wound care centre to be certified as a Centre of Excellence. This project included establishing a number of EWMAendorsed wound care centres and setting up a training programme for local doctors. Centres of Excellence Since 2014, our Access to Healthcare programme has funded the establishment of two Centres of Excellence and sponsored the training of around 90 doctors at Peking University First Hospital (Beida Hospital) and Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital (Gulou hospital). The centres offer patients systematic diagnosis and standardised treatment from medical professionals trained in wound care. And they give healthcare professionals access to ongoing education and training based on Coloplast HEAL. Developed in collaboration with international wound care experts, HEAL is a global medical education programme that teaches broader wound healing principles to healthcare professionals. Saving limbs and improving quality of life The first Centre of Excellence was set up at Beida Hospital in July The centre has received an EWMA endorsement and has managed to train 46 doctors in only two years. According to the hospital, the centre has achieved great results in the short time it has been running: the amputation rate for patients with diabetic foot ulcers has decreased from 40% to 31%. And the wound heal rate has increased from less than 50% to 82%. Sharing knowledge Quality of care has improved considerably at the Centre of Excellence at the Beida Hospital. Knowledge about correct wound care treatment and management has already travelled far and fast. So far, the healthcare professionals trained at the Beida Centre of Excellence have established nine wound care centres at their own hospitals. By creating this ripple effect, the hope is that these new satellite wound care centres will result in a widespread improvement in wound care throughout the country

Ideally, we would like to have people forget they have a medical condition. It's all about people just living the life they want. Lars Rasmussen CEO, Coloplast Becky and her husband 14 15

The scale of the challenge Facts from the field Most people are not aware how widespread intimate healthcare conditions really are. Nor how serious their implications can be for the people who live with them. These figures suggest the scale of the challenge. With our products and services, we want to make a real difference to the quality of life of the thousands of people they represent. Teigo Anna Victor Colin 91% Intermittent catheter users have 2.7 of people with a stoma 28% worry about leakage urinary and 76% have tract experienced leakage over the last 6 months infections 1 on average per year 2 Up to of diabetic foot ulcers may result in amputation million men worldwide by 2025, with only around 20% seeking treatment 4 Erectile dysfunction will affect nearly 16 17

Coloplast business areas Our strengths are reflected in each of our business areas Ostomy Care A portfolio of appliances designed to reduce leakage and maintain healthy skin. Continence Care Effective solutions for better bladder and bowel management. Wound & Skin Care Advanced solutions that improve skin care and help wounds heal. Urology Care Life-changing surgical devices for urological and gynaecological treatments

Ostomy Care Reducing the burden of leakage Growing up with a stoma, I didn t really notice the difference between me and the other kids. Not until college really, with dating. That has been a tough learning curve, but today I actually feel quite confident. Brittany For most people living with a stoma, the real issue is not the stoma. It is the fear of leakage and the huge impact this has on their lives. Imagine not daring to go out because you might have an accident in public. Imagine the feeling of isolation when you desperately long to do things that no longer seem possible. The fear of leakage Leakage leads to other complications too. The most frequent is skin damage caused by urine or faeces that goes under the baseplate which is not only very uncomfortable but also costly to treat. Designing to reduce leakage and overall complications The key to solving the issue of leakage is to have an appliance that provides a secure fit to the body. But bodies are different. And they change shape as we move and grow older. Today, our essential and supporting products are designed with this in mind. Since bringing the world s first disposable, selfadhesive ostomy pouch to market six decades ago, we have developed the market s most complete portfolio of ostomy solutions. Taking fit, flexibility and comfort to a new level through our BodyFit Technology, we create solutions to reduce the burden of leakage and enable users to do so much more. Providing the best support for nurses and users The challenge of leakage is not solved by products alone. The right daily routines and getting questions answered quickly solve problems before they get out of hand. In addition to the expertise and advice provided by our sales support teams, Coloplast Professional offers training and tools to help nurses develop their skills, so they can provide the best care to users. Furthermore, for the past 20 years, our Coloplast Born and raised in downtown Toronto, Brittany describes herself as a real city girl. Brittany has had her stoma from birth and has learned how to cope with it, thanks to the support from her family. Becoming a young woman brought new challenges that she is now learning to embrace. 12 I want to go back to school, but there has just been a lot of roadblocks. I don t have an easy road, but I m learning how to enjoy life better." Brittany Our latest innovations within Ostomy Care Brittany and her sister Ostomy Forum (COF ) has enabled nurses to share their insights with each other and directly with our product designers, engineers and scientists. There are currently over 600 leading nurses from over 20 countries involved, helping to improve products that make lives easier for users worldwide. Our industry-leading support programme, Coloplast Care ensures that users always have easy access to a Coloplast adviser. We are there when they need advice on how to adjust their routines. When they feel low and need reassurance. And when they are confident enough to start exploring new activities. Fighting for better ostomy care Around the world, we are partnering with healthcare professionals to raise the standard of care. From helping them build capacity in their clinics, to training their teams, and raising awareness about the right management routines. Access to the right products and treatment is still an issue in many countries around the world. In Argentina, for example, people with an ostomy have not had full access to the products they need to manage their condition. Through our support, the Argentinian Ostomy Association succeeded in getting a new reimbursement law passed that ensures free access to ostomy products, including accessories, according to medical prescription. To help tackle the burden of leakage, for example, we have developed Apply Remove Check (ARC) an educational initiative that has been proven to help people adopt routines that reduce leakage and related complications. With initiatives like ARC and our close collaboration with partners, we fight to raise the standard of stoma care worldwide. Our goal is simple: to continually make life easier for anyone living with a stoma. Approximately 1.45 million live with a stoma in the US and EU alone 5 people % global market share 6 7 % organic growth rate 7 SenSura Mio Convex A new ostomy bag with an adaptive convex baseplate that provides stability around the stoma while being flexible. 13 Continence Care Raising Peter and his coach standards through innovation Of course, as an athlete, you demand a lot from your equipment. The same goes for catheters. Peter Ever since his accident, Peter has been involved in sports first in rugby, and later wheelchair racing. Today, he s a professional athlete and the reigning Olympic and World Champion in 100 and 400 metre wheelchair racing. The fear of having an accident in public or the worry about where to catheterise makes staying at home seem like the only option for so many people suffering from incontinence issues related to either bladder or bowel. The additional major risk of contracting urinary tract infections (UTIs) adds extra distress to their isolation. Bringing back confidence By helping users to better manage their bladder and bowel routine, we can bring back confidence. Restore dignity. And give them the freedom to live the life they want to lead. Enabling through innovation and design We focus on building awareness about the need for better bladder and bowel treatments and provide users with the best possible solutions to help them manage their bladder and bowel routines. Our transanal irrigation system not only empties the bowel effectively; it also represents a new product category in its field. Our catheters help users manage their condition simply and hygienically. Here, we strive to use design to reduce psychological barriers and improve compliance. This combination of medical functionality and design thinking has resulted in a series of industry firsts. Our award-winning products have driven the shift to compact catheters by combining improved functionality with small size, and a design that blends with other lifestyle accessories. And by pioneering new approaches to bowel management, our products help users to individual routines that fit their lifestyle. Peter is an intermittent catheter user who has received compensation from Coloplast to provide this information. Each person s situation is unique, so your experience may not be the same. For example, our Continence Advisory Board (CAB) has guided our product development since Today s CAB, with over 250 continence care nurses from 15 countries, enables participants to learn from each other while guiding what we do. In addition to providing training and support for nurses and doctors and helping them teach their patients good compliance routines Coloplast Care offers users an extra line of direct support. Our consumer care experts advise users on how to deal with bladder and bowel issues and how to adjust their product usage and support them in their routines. They are also a source of hope and inspiration when users are going through difficult times. Capacity building and fighting for reimbursement globally Through our Access to Healthcare programme, we work closely with a range of partners worldwide to advocate for better care and build better framework conditions for intimate healthcare. In Japan, for example, Coloplast has supported patients and other stakeholders in their efforts to convince the Japanese healthcare authorities to provide additional reimbursement for intermittent catheters. As a result, more than 100,000 users will now have access to the latest and most innovative products to manage their condition. Similarly, in South Korea, the authorities have set up a new reimbursement scheme that will improve access to better catheters for around 25,000 users covered by this scheme. This came about as a result of close collaboration between local disability organisations, medical experts and Coloplast. In Australia, the Access to Healthcare programme has worked closely with local stakeholders to make sure that the new National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) gives people with continence issues full access to the products they need to manage their condition. 15 Wound & Skin Care Making every day count A chronic wound can take years to heal. During this time, patients have to live with the discomfort and pain of an unhealed wound. They also have to deal with the smell of the fluid it exudes and the social isolation that it can bring. That is in addition to the trauma that caused the wound in the first place an accident, surgery or a chronic disease. Fewer days with wounds Faster healing is what wound care patients need. It is what nurses care about. And it is what healthcare authorities want to see. So our focus is clear: fewer days with wounds, by making every day count. A complete system for optimal care We believe wound management and skin care are inseparable. Therefore, we have developed great expertise in both skin and wound care and in treating and taking care of a wide variety of skin and wound complications. We work closely with healthcare professionals to develop wound and skin care solutions with our users in mind, to make sure we meet their needs. It is important to us to not only provide products of the highest quality but also to make sure they meet our standards of user-friendliness. Our solutions support all stages of the healing process, as well as help to fight infection and reduce pain in wounds. Championing better wound management Our close collaboration with users and healthcare professionals has guided us in creating tools that support them. For example, we found out that wounds change constantly, which means that nurses have to respond to each change in the right way to ensure effective healing. To help them do so, we have collaborated with clinicians from around the world to develop the Triangle of Wound Assessment a holistic wound assessment framework that introduces an intuitive For Celso, performing is his passion. A diabetic foot ulcer nearly led to an amputation, but his nurse reassessed his treatment plan and saved his leg. Celso and his nurse Monica is more than a nurse to me. 16 The doctor was planning to amputate my leg to the knee. Monica changed the whole treatment and told the management that she would take care of my foot for one month, and then they could reassess the situation. She shone a light at the end of the tunnel. Her dedication saved me. Celso Our latest innovations within Wound & Skin Care way to assess and manage all three areas of the wound: the wound bed, wound edge and periwound skin. In addition to promoting the use of the Triangle of Wound Assessment, we run a global medical educational programme for healthcare professionals called Coloplast HEAL. Developed in close collaboration with international wound care experts, this programme teaches broader wound healing principles to healthcare professionals, to support best practices worldwide. Driving change through partnerships We fight to raise the global standard of wound care. Since 2014, our Access to Healthcare programme has funded a number of EWMA-endorsed Centres of Excellence in China. Set up at established hospitals, these centres offer patients systematic diagnosis and standardised treatment from medical professionals trained in wound care. They also give healthcare professionals access to ongoing education and training on our products. Within its first two years in China, the programme has sponsored the training of around 90 doctors, whose knowledge and expertise have spread to other hospitals and already helped to bring down the amputation rate for patients with diabetic foot ulcers and increased the wound healing rate on a national scale. Over 50 million people around the world suffer from chronic wounds % global market share 12 4 % organic growth rate 13 Biatain Silicone The Biatain Silicone products are soft and flexible foam dressings with a unique 3DFit TM Technology that conforms to the wound bed for optimal healing conditions of chronic and acute wounds.
