1 EVER HAD A FLU SHOT KEY MESSAGES In Peel in 2011/2012, 58% of the population aged 12 years and older received a seasonal flu shot in the past year. This was significantly lower than Ontario (63%). There were statistically significant increases in the proportion of Peel residents receiving the seasonal flu shot from 2000/2001 (45%) to 2005 (59%). However, since 2005 the proportion of the population aged 12 years and older who received a seasonal flu shot in the past year has remained stable. This finding is similar to Ontario. The proportion of Peel s population aged 12 years and older who received a seasonal flu shot was significantly higher among: o Those in the highest age group (65+) compared to those in the age groups ranging from 19 to 64 years; o Those in the year age group compared to those in the year age group; o Those who were non-immigrants compared to recent immigrants.
