1 Premixes for Growth and Development Heifers weighing 200 pounds or more can be fed a grain mix or ration containing one of our Renaissance Heifer Products. Our Heifer products are formulated to provide the recommended rate of Bovatec, Rumensin or IGR. Fortification considerations for certain nutrients: Vitamin A: Helps form and maintain healthy body tissue, improves hair coat and general condition, and is vital in maintaining normal eyesight. Vitamin D: Increases mineral absorption and utilization, promotes development of sound bones, and helps prevent lameness, swollen joints and rough haircoats Vitamin E: An excellent antioxidant that protects tissues from oxidative damage and helps improve immunity. Calcium: Necessary for formation of bones and teeth, helps regulate acid-base balance of blood, necessary for muscle contraction, and important in several metabolic enzyme systems. Phosphorus: Necessary for utilization of nutrients, essential for proper metabolism and health of rumen microflora, and necessary for bone formation. Selenium: Helps improve immunity and works with vitamin E to prevent white muscle disease. Magnesium: Elevated levels to compensate for those areas where soil Mg is deficient or plant uptake of Mg is poor Medications: Rumensin : Monensin (registered trademark of Elanco TM ). Increased rate of weight gain, feed at mg/h/d for first 5 days and either mg/h/d or 400 mg/h/every other day after the 5 th day. Prevention of coccidiosis, feed at mg/lb of BW/d up to 200 mg/h/d. Bovatec : Control of coccidiosis, feed at mg/h/d of Lasalocid (registered trademark of Zoetis). IGR : Fly control, feed mg/lb of BW/mo of (S)-Methoprene. Additives: Availa 4 : Co, Cu, Mn and Zn amino acid complex source (registered trademark of ZinPro Performance Minerals ). Availa Zn : Zn amino acid complex source (registered trademark of ZinPro Performance Minerals ). Mintrex Cu : Chelated Cu protected by HMTBa (methionine activity) (registered trademark of Novus ). Mintrex Mn : Chelated Mn protected by HMTBa (methionine activity) (registered trademark of Novus ). Mintrex Zn : Chelated Zn protected by HMTBa (methionine activity) (registered trademark of Novus ).
