The central pressor and depressor response to NT could be respectively blocked by pretreatment with 1 2receptor blocker prazosin (115 g/ 3 l, icv) and M receptor blocker atropine (215 g/ 3 l, icv). No significant changes in central cardiovascular responses to NT were observed following pretreatment with either H 1 receptor blocker chlorpheniramin (50 g/ 3 l, icv ) or H 2 receptor blocker cimetidine (250 g/ 3 l, icv). In view of the above results it appears that NT, cate2 cholamine and acetylcholine are all involved in central regulation of blood pressure. Key words : neurotensin ; blood pressure ; prazosin ; atropine ; intracerebroventricular injection
