41 ORGTAN XO Poly functional aldehyde syntan, for white leather Aspect : Transparent liquid Basis : Mixture of Oxazolidine ph : In 10% aqueous solution, Active matter : 50 ± 1% Solubility : Readily soluble in hot water Light Fastness : Excellent Note : Colour may turn to yellow brown on ageing. However This will not affect the performance of the product. PROPERTIES ORGTAN XO is a high efficient self tanning agent with reactive sequestering groups with very high light fastness and high fixing capacity. It does not cause yellowing. The main advantage of ORGTAN XO is it does not crosslink on its own, during storage which is the case with conventional aldehyde tanning agents. ORGTAN XO can be used in pre-tanning. ORGTAN XO can be used in tanning. During chrome tanning, when used as a pre-tanning material, a fuller and smoother wet blue is resulted. When ORGTAN XO is applied during vegetable tanning, the absorption of the vegetable tanning material is faster and hence the grain surface is very smooth, unlike the normal EI tanned leathers. When ORGTAN XO is applied after chrome tanning, before fixation, the exhaustion is excellent and results in round and smooth grained wet blues. As it is generally difficult to get fullness and roundness in imported hides, it is particularly suitable for imported hides. ORGTAN XO when used in retanning the medium and heavy imported wet blue hides it imparts

42 good fullness, grain smoothness and softness. ORGTAN XO disperses fat and improves fullness and firmness. ORGTAN XO can be used in re-tanning ORGTAN XO can be used for both chrome tanned and vegetable tanned leather. ORGTAN XO is very suitable for making chrome free and white leathers. It increases the shrinkage temperature and non yellowing. Additional advantages of using ORGTAN XO are considerable improvement of tear strength, increase in the depth of dyeing, fur tanning where the optic and sheen of the fur is not reduced. APPLICATIONS Pre-tanning (For both chrome tanning and Vegetable tanning) : % ORGTAN XO, based on pelt weight Chrome tanning / Chrome free tanning : % ORGTAN XO, based on pelt weight Retanning for White leathers Retanning for Regular process : % ORGTAN XO, based on shaved weight : % ORGTAN XO, based on shaved weight SHELF LIFE ORGTAN XO has a shelf life of one year if it is stored in its original sealed package. Drums should be tightly resealed each time material is taken from them and their content should be used up as soon as possible after they have been opened.

43 ORGTAN MA Aliphatic mono aldehyde, which can be used in pretanning and retanning of very soft and lightweight leathers. Solubility : Good Light fastness : Very good Stability : Good with tannins, oils, dyestuffs, stable from ph 2-to 8.5 PROPERTIES ORGTAN MA has got good dispersing effect on the natural fat. ORGTAN MA applied in the pre tanning improves the penetration and fixation of chrome and vegetable syntans and thus gives fullness to the leather ORGTAN MA used in retanning gives good fullness and soft handle to the leather with improved grain resistance as well as perspiration resistance. ORGTAN MA disperses the fat liquor and improves softness of the leather. ORGTAN MA is suitable for a variety of applications to improve the quality of the leather, particularly enhances the penetration of dyestuff and levelness in dyeing. APPLICATIONS Pretanning (Based on pelt weight) 2-3% of ORGTAN MA 30 Then usual chrome tanning process

44 Neutralization (Based on wet blue shaved weight) 1-2% of ORGTAN MA 30 Then usual neutralization process Retanning (Based on wet blue shaved weight) 1-2% of ORGTAN MA 30 X % syntan SHELF LIFE ORGTAN MA has a shelf life of one year if it is stored in its original sealed package. Drums should be tightly resealed each time material is taken from them and their content should be used up as soon as possible after they have been opened.
