People live to 100 years here because they don't drink. D. People don't really live to 100 years here. It's a myth. Answer: B
Where to Start Identifying SNPs is the most important thing to do first. "It is more important to know what sort of person has a disease rather than what disease a person has. How efficient are you? What is found in high concentration inside your mitochondria? Why? A. Glucose. To make ATP. B. ATP. To fuel your cells. C. Audi A8 Quattro. Because I couldn't think of another answer. D. Glutathione. To protect against the damaging effects of burning oxygen. What parts of the body are affected by the mitochondria? A. Muscles B. Liver C. Eyes D. All organs If our mitochondria are not working right, we can experience various symptoms. It's important to keep the mitochondria healthy. Answer: D Answer: D Which is correct?
At rest, your kidneys use the most oxygen. A. At rest, your kidneys use the most oxygen. B. At rest, your body uses 40% of your cellular energy (ATP) just to move electrolytes into your cells. C. At rest, your brain uses the most oxygen. D. At rest, your body uses 10% of your cellular energy (ATP) just to move electrolytes into your cells. E. B and C F. A and B How do we fix it? "I don't have time." is a legitimate excuse because: A. I have to help others first before I help myself B. My boss is working me too hard C. It's not. I can always make time for what is essential. D. I'm too busy doing work and dealing with other things Learning about genetics or anything health related is easy on the internet. If it's published online by a practitioner, it must be solid information always. True. They studied for years. False. There must be evidence, research citations, mechanisms of action or at least mention that it is theoretical if not proven. Answer: C Answer: E Surviving Air How long can you survive without air? A. 2 minutes B. 1 minute
C. 5 minutes D. 3 minutes At rest, when we breathe slower than normal, we increase our cellular oxygen content. Which two organs use the most oxygen at rest? A. Liver and Brain B. Kidneys and Heart C. Liver and Muscles D. Brain and Kidneys Oxygen burns cleanly and safely. It does not create any damage to our bodies when it is burned. Answer: A Answer: D Our oxygen-burning machines, the mitochondria, produce a lot of damaging reactive oxygen species. To protect us against this, our mitochondria concentrate this inside: A. Glutathione B. Carbon dioxide C. Nitric oxide D. Water Oxygen has to be carried by our hemoglobin and then dropped off at the areas which need it. These areas have lower ph and higher carbon dioxide levels. Answer: A
What lab finding can really impact our oxygen levels? A. High cholesterol B. Folate/B12 deficiency anemia C. Iron deficiency anemia D. B and C One shouldn't exercise in polluted areas because it can: A. Decrease their blood oxygen levels B. Increase carbon monoxide exposure which prevents oxygen transport C. Increase cardiovascular risk D. All of the above Great ways to increase breathing and oxygenation are: A. Stretching like Qi-gong or Yoga B. Neti pot C. Meditation with focus on breathing (pranayama) D. Starting the breath from the belly upwards to the chest E. Standing up vs sitting down F. A, B and D G. All of the above Answer: G Answer: D Answer: D Mouth breathing is fine. It's not a problem that needs addressing.
Common symptoms of dysfunctional breathing are: A. Fatigue B. Anxiety C. Muscle pain D. Panic E. Headache F. A, B and C G. All of the above Surviving Shelter Which statement is true? A. New homes don't have mold. That's why they are recommended to buy. B. 30% of new homes have mold. C. 90%+ of chronic sinus infections are due to mold D. Mold doesn't cause serious health issues. E. Lubricates joints and organs G. None of the above. Juice and soda are fine replacements. H. All of the above (except G). I really respect how important water is! When dehydrated, your kidneys work hard to pull out more water from urine. This uses up your energy (ATP). By drinking water and preventing dehydration, you are conserving energy. 20% of children, 40% of women and 60% of men fail to meet standard hydration requirements. My brain shrinks when I am dehydrated. Answer: H A 1% loss of body water (1 lb weight loss in 100 lb person) impairs cognitive performance.
These three contain the most water by weight. A. Plasma, Brain, Skin B. Plasma, Liver, Kidneys C. Plasma, Liver, Lungs D. Plasma, Lungs, Kidneys City tap water contains no contaminants. It is perfectly safe to drink long term. It doesn't need to be filtered. Evaluating hydration can be done by evaluating: A. Thirst B. Urine color C. Weight D. Saliva E. Skin lift F. A and B G. All of the above Losing weight immediately after sauna or exercise is a sign of water loss. You need to drink sufficient water to meet the same weight as you were prior to exercise or sauna. Answer: G Answer: C A common sign of electrolyte deficiency is drinking water and then having to pee right away after. It seems that water just goes right through you.
Common first signs of dehydration are: A. Thirst B. Onset of headache C. Onset of fatigue D. Onset of breathing difficulty E. All of the above Surviving Food Before 1980's, most research was focused of nutritional deficiency. After the 1980's, most research shifted to caloric excess. We used to have to move in order to acquire food from our environment. Now we simply have to lean over or push a button. This is a big factor in our weight gain as a society. We need to think of food as fuel for our body and treat it as such. Too much fuel isn't good for any fire. Too much fuel burns faster, hotter and loses energy quicker. Rather a slower, more efficient burn is more lasting and less damaging. Answer: E NADH is produced from eating carbohydrates (and some proteins). NADH is essential for our mitochondria's ability to produce ATP (our cellular energy).
Reduced appetite may be associated with Helicobacter pylori infection. Overeating is a problem because our body has too much NADH. It doesn't need anymore. What happens then is our body has to do something with the extra fuel and it sends it down very damaging and reactive enzymatic pathways to get rid of it. This is partly why diabetes is so damaging to nerves, eyes and blood vessels. The best way to get rid of excessive NADH is to: A. Skip a meal B. Fast C. Exercise D. Limit carbohydrate and protein intake E. All of the above If we overeat, and we all love to at times, the best thing to do is: A. Go for a walk, take some liposomal glutathione the next morning and skip the next meal. B. Ignore it and keep doing it C. Blame ourselves for a week and feel guilty D. Take some digestive enzymes Answer: A Answer: E What contributes to more NADH production? A. Carbohydrates B. Overeating
C. Alcohol D. Yeast / Candida E. A and B F. All of the above Excess NADH can lead to: A. Fatty liver B. Gout C. Diabetes D. High cholesterol E. High lactic acid F. C and D G. All of the above One dose of acetaminophen (Tylenol) and alcohol do what to our body's best and most powerful antioxidant, glutathione? A. Deplete it significantly B. Reduce it a bit C. Nothing. They are both fine and don't disturb glutathione levels. Answer: A Answer: G Gallstones can happen because: A. Cholesterol is too high in the diet B. Glycine and taurine levels are low C. Phosphatidylcholine levels are low D. Methylation is not working very well E. The ratio of Phosphatidylcholine:Cholesterol is < 10:1 F. A and E G. All of the above Answer: G
SIBO may occur because bile, which kills bacteria, is not moving out of the gallbladder into the small intestine. This allows bacteria to grow there. One cannot eat too much protein. Protein is great for you. GAPS, Paleo and high protein intake is recommended for all long term. Sulfites in food can increase aggravation, headaches and asthma. Molybdenum can help breakdown sulfites. Organic food is a ploy to get people to spend more money. There is no health benefit in buying any organic foods. The vast majority of children diagnosed with ADHD are actually reacting to one or more foods. Ritalin can be neurotoxic as it increases levels of oxidized dopamine. Oxidized dopamine is toxic to the brain.
One has to buy all organic fruits and vegetables. There are no 'clean' ones available. Bacteria in our digestive tract make a lot of vitamins. These get absorbed into our blood and may affect our lab results. A high B6 or B12 lab may indicate SIBO. Potassium is underrated as a nutrient. It is commonly deficient in the population. Most of us need to consume 4 grams of potassium a day. This is not easy to do. I can eat anytime I want, whatever I want. My body will figure out how best to use it because all food is fuel for my body. Learning about genetics or anything health related is easy on the internet. If it's published online by a practitioner, it must be solid information always. True. They studied for years. False. There must be evidence, research citations, mechanisms of action or at least mention that it is theoretical if not proven.
