2 Ever considered this? Do large dogs need different food from small dogs? Dogs are not wolves (any more) Yes, the dog is descended from the wolf. But dogs today live under completely different conditions to those of their ancestors. They are fed every day, they no longer have to catch their own breakfast and they don t prowl around hungrily for days in the cold and wet. So these days, just feeding a dog a lot of meat is not sufficient, they won t get enough of the nutrients they need. In their many years of domesticity dogs have adapted their way of life. Recent scientific studies show that dogs are now very well able to metabolise starch. The main requirement of a modern dog food is to deal with the increased strain on joints and organs due to the longer life expectancy of the dog. In addition, options for dogs with food intolerances are becoming more and more important. The problem for dogs these days is either excess nutrients (80% of all dogs are too fat) or symptoms of deficiency due to an unbalanced diet. With Christopherus your dog should not have these problems. Because we focus on the actual needs of the animals. That means: no excess nutrients, no ingredients without benefit simple exactly what your dog needs for a healthy life. Do long-haired dogs have different nutritional needs from short-haired ones? The energy content of the food and the right calcium to phosphorus ratio (recommended: :1) are important preconditions for healthy growth. In order to prevent later skeletal misalignments, skeleton and muscle mass must develop in harmony. The calcium content in our food for puppies and young dogs is adjusted to enable the development of normal healthy bones. The energy content of both complete foods has been specifically chosen to enable healthy development of the muscles and organs and avoid the dog growing too fast. Growing dogs generally have a sensitive digestive system and in order to build muscle mass they particularly need the high-quality proteins and fats which form the basis of all Christopherus products.
