7 Exercise Practicum over your degree Placement requirements: 140 hrs Apparently Healthy Practicum 10 hrs (1 st year) MEDI hrs (2 nd year) MEDI hrs (3 rd year) EXSC320 (70 hrs); MEDI320 (30 hrs) or on your own. 8 Exercise Practicum Skills are developed to improve your abilities as an exercise professional. A range of learning objectives must be demonstrated. The elearning platform (Moodle) offers many opportunities (logbook, practicum reference & work experience forms). 13 Clinical Placement Practicum For students in: 4 th year of B.ExScRehab, or M.Clinical Exercise Physiology Real-world experience and practical application of your 4 years of study, under a clinical supervisor Assesses your knowledge, skill and competency at the level needed for graduating to become an Accredited Exercise Physiologist 360 hours (minimum) in clinical/rehabilitation settings in public and private hospitals, private clinics, community programs Be prepared to travel! we have placements all over, from Canberra and the South Coast, to Wagga and the Central Coast Organised by Clinical Placement Coordinator (Angela Douglas)

28 Course Handbook The handbook will provide you with a quick reference to all your course requirements. It is important that you follow this very carefully and always see your coordinator if you are unsure. You must follow the schedule in the year you commenced your degree. 29 Common Terms and Definitions? Academic Consideration: is a process intended to help minimise the impact of serious or extenuating circumstances beyond a student s control. Academic consideration may be granted on the basis of medical grounds, compassionate grounds and/or extenuating circumstances. To apply for academic consideration you must submit an application via SOLS, as well as a medical certificate or other documentation which is submitted to Student Central in Bld 17 (within 7 days). The Subject Coordinator will be automatically notified of your request via your SOLS application and will approve or decline your application. You need documentation For more information refer to

Pre / Co-req: A number of early course subjects will be the foundation for later subjects Pre-req subjects must be successfully completed (grade 50/100 or greater) to allow progression In some instances subjects will be listed as co-req. 36 Get Involved at UOW UOW Wellbeing: Look for the purple tent during O-week, or drop in and chat to the Wellbeing team in the Centre, (Bld 11, Ground Floor). If you have just enrolled at UOW, congratulations! You should have received a ticket for a free 10 minute massage (1/person) and Wellbeing planner. This ticket can be redeemed at the UOW Wellbeing Centre during weeks 1 & 2, 9:30-11:30 from Mon - Fri. Tickets will also be available at the Wellbeing tent during O-Week.
