3 Summary This comprehensive, two day, cadaveric musculoskeletal ultrasound guided injection course in London, offers you the next best training tool to performing injections on patients. It provides a unique opportunity to learn and develop your injection skills directly on the anatomy you will encounter in your clinic! With a blend of short lectures and dynamic, hands-on practicals with soft preserved cadavers you will have plenty of opportunity to fine tune your skills. With a maximum of 3 delegates per ultrasound machine, and a high tutor:delegate ratio, you will have regular feedback and practical time. There will be a strong clinical focus throughout the course and the majority of peripheral joint injections will be covered. There is a 10% discount for ACPOMIT members. Content There will be endless opportunities to challenge your anatomical knowledge, utilising the wide range of educational tools available at St George's including anatomical prosections, models and the cadavers. The knowledge of Dr Matt Szarko (Academic Lead and Senior lecturer in Anatomy at St Georges University of London) will also be available, to answer those challenging anatomical questions when orientating yourself to the cadavers! Your lecturers for the two days are experienced MSK clinicians, all trained to a high level with MSK Ultrasound and with extensive clinical experience of integrating ultrasound into their MSK clinics, and Radiology environments.

4 Objectives By the end of this course you will be able to: - Optimise an ultrasound image and demonstrate a basic ultrasound examination of upper and lower limb target structures. - Describe the sonographic appearance of commonly encountered pathologies in selected upper and lower limb regions, as well as the adjunctive role of ultrasound-guided procedures in the treatment of these pathologies. - Outline the steps necessary for successful completion of an ultrasound-guided procedure and dynamically track needles using ultrasound guidance. - Discuss the role of ultrasound-guided procedures in the evaluation and management of MSK conditions. - List the steps necessary to perform aseptic advanced ultrasound-guided MSK Interventions. Do they reduce side effects? Do they improve patient outcome? 9.30 Injectable substances..what can be used? and what is the evidence behind their useage? 9.45 Ultrasound guided interventions for shoulder pain Break Presentation followed by hands on practice of US guided procedures on soft cadavers. Covering: Subacromial Subdeltoid bursa, Glenohumeral joint, Acromioclavicular joint, Long head of biceps sheath Continued practice of injections around the shoulder Lunch Ultrasound guided Interventions for wrist and hand conditions Break Presentation followed by hands on practice of US guided procedures on soft cadavers: Radio-carpal joint, DeQuervains tenosynovitis, carpal tunnel syndrome. Hand: First CMC joint, trigger finger/thumb, finger joints Ultrasound guided interventions for elbow pain Presentation followed by hands on practice of US guided procedures on soft cadavers.
