3 Course Description This presentation provides balancers, commissioning authorities, facilities managers, contractors and engineers step-by-step best practices for common applications, installations and solutions on how to optimize their use of ultrasonic flow meters. This also includes a review of the evolution of ultrasonic technology, the science behind it, and an overview of the new technologies of today and tomorrow.

19 1. Determine Transducer site 2. Pipe/Transducer Preparation Prep / Clean Pipe Remove insulation if any Apply Acoustic Couplant to the sensors. Adjust Transducer Spacing

23 1. Determine Transducer site 2. Pipe/Transducer Preparation 3. Install Transducer to Pipe Clamp transducer to pipe at the prepared area. Adjust transducer knobs until sensors are snug to pipe surface. Attach cables according to upstream/downstream.

24 15 Pipe diameters of straight run between elbows for flows of 7 to 10 fps. More for higher flow rates or major obstructions. Less for lower flow rates.
