5 Specialist Therapies Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) to be applied only by staff who have undergone training. Please contact Tissue Viability for guidance. Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) Therapy and Dressings NPWT is for the management of heavily exuding large wounds or wounds that are difficult to heal. Funding of the NPWT equipment must be secured via the Tissue Viability Team prior to the commencement of treatment. (For further information refer to the NPWT Therapy Guidelines).
