2 The rendering emergency psychological aid to victims in emergency situations is one of the most important areas of psychological service of EMERCOM of Russia
3 Psychologists EMERCOM of Russia arrived in the disaster area at the same time with all the emergency services, and work around the clock until the end of works on liquidation of consequences of emergency situations Psychological support of rescue and other urgent works is an integral part of measures on liquidation of consequences of emergency situations
4 Specific conditions psychologist s work in emergency 1. Surprise factor. Nearly always such event can be characterized as a sudden one. 2. Time factor. The emergency psychological aid is invariably rendered in a relatively short time. 3. Conditions unusual for work of a professional psychologist 4. Abundance of people in one place in need of a psychological aid.
5 The emergency psychological aid is complete system of the actions directed on optimization of an actual mental condition of victims, and also relatives and close dead and injured in the conditions of an emergency.
6 Forms of psychological help in emergences individual work group work information and psychological support
7 The goals of work of the specialist of psychological service in a zone emergency are: optimization of an actual mental condition of victims; decrease in risk of emergence of mass negative reactions; emergence prevention at the affected remote mental consequences as a result of influence of an injuring event; rendering of a psychological assistance to participants of elimination of consequences of an emergency.
8 Two directions psychologist's work in an emergences 1. Organizational direction: the interaction organization with representatives of services, departments and the organizations which are taking part in elimination of consequences of an emergency; participation in organization of events on providing the conditions of activity of victims
9 2. Practical psychological: work with acute stressful reactions; work with a condition of a sharp grief; work in crowd; prevention of suicide behavior; decrease in intensity of negative reactions
10 Events with psychological support - work in points of temporary placement of the affected population; - evacuation of the affected population; - situation of a mass congestion of people (victims, relatives and close dead and injured), who expects further development of a situation; - rendering of an emergency psychological assistance to relatives of victims, whose destiny is unknown; -mass actions (support of funeral; support of departure relatives of victims to the place of the tragedy, meetings relatives of victims with official persons); - identification procedure; - work on «The hot line».
11 In the 2013 the EMERCOM psychologists have rendered help for the injured in nearly 2200 emergencies: 38 - large emergencies in the territory of Russia; 19 - psychological support of Russian citizens abroad, including the evacuation of Russian citizens on the territory of Russia; 47- psychological accompany of sanitary aviation evacuation of Russian citizens on the territory of Russia, also from abroad; nearly 2100 local emergencies in the territory of Russia (local fires, car accidents, building failures and other, include 403 attempted suicide)
12 Conclusions: 1. Emergency psychological aid is important integral part of rescue and other urgent works, measures on liquidation of consequences of emergency situations. 2. A psychologist working with the victims in the emergency situations should have high professional qualification and special training. 3. Knowledge of all specific conditions of work in the emergency situation helps in the efficiency results of the assistance rendered to victims, preservation of professional health of the specialist himself. 4. Influence stress on specialist in emergency situations is very high. The expert must monitor his professional and mental health. The specialist must be able to maintain an optimal work and feel level in emergencies.
