6 WP 4 - Literature Research and Survey Objectives of the Work Package To carry out a Literature research about motivation factors and background situation of the target group in all partner countries To complete a survey in all partner countries concerning target group needs and requirements To identify, according to the target group needs and requirements, relevant criteria for health promotion concept and intervention Page 6

7 Literature research Methodology Comprehensive approach Roberto Penna The project will lead to a better knowledge basis about determinants of health as well as psychological issues around motivations and perspectives of the target group. The overview must gather the descriptive vision (i.e. nosography) and mostly the explanatory one. Page 7

8 Questionnaire Methodology Comprehensive approach based on subject's personality Personality can be defined as an evolving process constructing an individual Personal Meaning Organization (PMO) (Guidano, 1987, 1991). This Organization can be investigated with the MQPO questionnaire (Nardi et al. 2011) During adolescence PMO is in progress, allowing the construction of identity. Page 8

9 Questionnaire Methodology Adaptive and Evolutive Cognitive Post-Rationalist Approach Symptoms (i.e. young people neither working nor studying) can be referred to an alteration of the internal balance producing severe changes in self-perception. Each symptom is also the expression of an adaptive effort and its comprehension can improve the subject's psychologicalphysical-relational functioning. Page 9

10 Topics of this approach The development of the Self is closely related to the affective and emotional activations. Psychopathology is a perturbation of these self-organizational processes resulting in the loss of one's internal coherence maintenance and this loss is the beginning of a crisis. This crisis can be resolved by creating a new, more complex and adaptive equilibrium according to the own PMO. There is a continuous range from normality to pathology. Page 10

Literature overview on young people without education and job and their psychological motivation and background situation in all the partner Countries. 2. Report describing results obtained finalised to plan the survey in all the Countries taking part in the project 3. Development of a draft structured questionnaire focused on risk factors, protective factors and personality. Page 11

12 Activities planned to carry out the work 4. Guideline production about how to use the questionnaire (interviewers self-training). Questionnaire translation in each partner language. 5. Pre-test (questionnaire validation) on a selection of interviews (as sample) in all partner Countries through a focus-group in each partner Country. 6. Interviewers briefing and feedback to improve the questionnaire and interview methodology. Page 12

13 Activities planned to carry out the work 7. Implementation of field survey in all partner countries: at least 50 interviews in each country in a pre-defined area. The interviews number must be representative of the sample for each area investigated and it must adequately describe the target group of each Country. 8. Analysis of the data collected must indicate the main criteria for health welfare promotion. 9. Final survey report production. Page 13
