1 May 27, 2017 Dear AP Psychology Students, Welcome to AP Psychology! I am psyched that we will be learning together this year. Psychology is the science of human behavior through the study of a variety of concepts, from brain anatomy, chemistry, and developmental theories. I am certain that you will find this course interesting, challenging, and personally relevant. In addition to exposing you to college-level rigor, it will also prepare you to take the AP exam with the goal of everyone passing! It is crucial that you get a jump start on the massive AP Psychology curriculum by doing a few small(ish) and (hopefully) fun and beneficial assignments. Due dates are listed along with each assignments. You will need a computer, access to the Internet, and- of course- your AP Psychology textbook. This year we will use Myers Psychology for AP (2 nd ed) by David G. Myers (ISBN ). All assignments will earn grade credit for the first quarter. There will be no extension of due dates nor excuses for incomplete assignments. Assignments not turned in by their respective due dates will earn a zero. I encourage you to space out your completion of these assignments. Some may be done easily on road trips, waiting in airports, or sitting out by the pool. Please don t wait to the last minute to complete your summer work! Have an enjoyable summer and please don t hesitate to me if you have questions (batemanl@stcecilia.edu). See you in August! Mrs. Bateman PS. Summer would also be a GREAT time to get your supplies for the year so you are ready to rock on August 16!
