Conducted motivational interviewing with breast cancer survivors as a health coach to enhance patient autonomy and self-efficacy during transition from cancer treatment to survivorship care. Safe Harbor Palliative Care Program, Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center Birmingham, Alabama Supervisor: Chebon Porter, PhD (Clinical Psychologist) Mental Health Trainee: Conducted individual and family therapy with patients and family caregivers at the palliative care inpatient unit. Responsibilities included participating in morning rounds, develop interventions to address phase of life problems associated complicated terminal illnesses, clinical note writing, and consultation with team members. University Medical Center Family Therapy Clinic Supervisor: Nancy Rubin, PsyD (Clinical Psychologist) Treatment Team Member: Conducted family therapy as a treatment team member and a cotherapist on a weekly basis. Families ranged in socioeconomic status, ethnicity, age, and gender. Community Memory Screening Supervisor: Forrest Scogin, PhD (Clinical Psychologist) Memory Screener: Conducted memory screening for older community adults. Screening assessments included SLUMS, MoCA, GDS, GAI, VES, and clinical interview. Responsibilities included conducting assessments, giving participants immediate feedback, writing and sending brief summary letters to participants, and preparing integrated reports to be sent to participant physicians upon request.

3 Huang 3 University of Alabama GeroPsychology Clinic Supervisor: Forrest Scogin, PhD & Rebecca Allen, PhD (Clinical Psychologists) Graduate Student Therapist: Conducted therapy with older adult clients, hospice patients and their family caregivers. Treatment settings included outpatient clinic, home-based hospice care, assisted living, and nursing homes. Evidence-based therapy was employed to address issues of depression, anxiety, panic disorder, insomnia, PTSD, coping with terminal illnesses. University Medical Center Geriatric Clinic Supervisor: Anne Halli M.D (Geriatrician) Geropsychology Trainee: Participated in an interdisciplinary treatment team to conduct and interpret neuro-cognitive and mood assessments of older adult patients. Patients range of functioning included individuals with physical ailments to those with cognitive impairments. Freedom Hall Community Living Center, Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center Supervisor: Dr. Michelle Hilgeman & Dr. Lynn Snow (Clinical Psychologists) Geropsychology Trainee: Conducted cognitive and mood assessments as well as individual therapy for older adult patients. Patients presented with comorbid medical and psychiatric conditions such as dementia, multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia, delusional disorder, depression, and generalized anxiety disorder. University of Alabama Psychology Clinic Supervisor: John Lochman, PhD & Clayton Shealy, PhD (Clinical Psychologists) Psychology Trainee: Conducted therapy with individuals. Therapy client demographics ranged in age from children to older adults. Client issues encompassed a wide range of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, panic disorder, and ADHD. West Alabama Mental Health Center Mobile Unit Demopolis, Alabama Supervisor: Virginia Scott-Adams, Psy.D (Clinical Psychologist) Psychology Graduate Student Intern: Participated in an interdisciplinary treatment team to conduct depression and anxiety screening for rural community residents. Provided immediate feedback and referral resources to residents and family caregivers. Department of Psychiatry, Taipei Municipal Chung Hsing Hospital Taipei, Taiwan Supervisor: Lu-Jun Tsai, MD (Psychiatrist) Psychology Intern: Completed 1,800 full-time counseling psychology internship hours to meet requirements for pre-master s internship.
