2 Welcome Dear Ophthalmologist, The board of the ESOIRS would like to invite you to attend the annual meeting of the society which will be held this year on 6 th 8 th May, 2009 at Hilton Green Plaza, Alexandria. The ESOIRS has been always and will remain committed to updating its members about all new and original data in the fields of cataract and refractive surgery. During this year s meeting, you will find an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest developments and advances in the fields of cataract and refractive surgery. 4 General Information Medical Exhibition: A wide area provided for a large medical exhibition including some of largest pharmaceutical companies interested in the field of ophthalmology, the exhibition will be held during the 3 days of the conference. We expect to have an attendance of about 300 expert ophthalmologists. Venue: Hilton Green Plaza Hotel - Alexandria Language The official language is English. Housing: Rooms are reserved for conference participants, exhibitors and guests with a special rate at Hilton Green Plaza Hotel Alexandria Scientific Program Conference activities are running in ONE HALL daily: Wednesday will start at 09:00 A.M. 6 Audiovisual Instructions Audiovisual aids regarding data show, computers and LCD displays will be provided by RM Solutions. Congress halls will be equipped with: Single data projector, one LCD screen for the speaker and one for the head table and a PC computer with Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Office Internet access will NOT be available inside the meeting rooms. No conventional 35mm slides or overheads are allowed as a tool for presentation. No video players are available as a tool for demonstration. Only CDs or DVDs are allowed. To ensure that the meeting progresses smoothly, please follow the following instructions: 1. All presentations should be recorded on a USB flash memory (preferred), CD-R. 2. Please save presentations in PowerPoint XP or later format for PC. 3. Hand in your presentation early to the Audiovisual Center (RM Solutions) as we will load the presentations to the hard drive of our systems before the sessions by one hour. 4. No personal laptops are permitted for presentations. 5. A computerized count-down timer will monitor speakers time. 6. In case you have problems with your presentation(s), please do not hesitate to contact the IT support team. Instructions for chairpersons: Please attend the session rooms 10 minutes prior to the beginning of time of the sessions you chair. Please introduce the speaker, state the presentation title for each speaker and remind him/her of the duration of his presentation.
