1 What the AAO-HNSF is Doing to Help Members with MIPS Reporting Quality Peformance ACI Performance Improvement Activities
2 THE MERIT-BASED INCENTIVE PAYMENT SYSTEM (MIPS) PROGRAM REG-ENT AND 2017 MIPS REPORTING. Reg-ent is an Otolaryngology specific clinical data registry through which participants will be able to report the required 2017 MIPS performance categories including Quality, Advancing Care Information, and Improvement Activities. REG-ENT QUALITY MEASURES The Reg-ent registry will facilitate the development and testing of quality measures and contains process and outcomes measures to be used for reporting the MIPS Quality performance category. SIGN YOUR CONTRACT BY JULY 15, 2017, to partner with Reg-ent for 2017 MIPS reporting. The sooner you sign your contact, the more time you will have to integrate your EHR system, review your performance data, and make adjustments as needed to maximize your participation. 3 HOW REG-ENT IS MEETING MEMBERS' MIPS REPORTING NEEDS Quality Performance Improvement Activities ACI Performance Reg-ent's enhanced technology platform will accommodate all required 2017 MIPS reporting categories including Quality Performance, Advancing Care Information (ACI), and Improvement Activities (IA). Web entry forms for ACI and IA categories reporting. Payment adjustment calculator. Multiple mapping refinements and complete review before CMS submission. 4 QUALITY PERFORMANCE FOR MIPS 2017 FOUNDATION MEASURE DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS The Foundation is currently engaged in a number of quality measures development efforts, including de-novo and clinical practice guideline-based measure development, development of measures through partnership with the ECRI Institute, American Academy of Neurology (ANN), and additional alternative pathways utilizing Reg-ent. AAO-HNSF measure development efforts are ongoing, and new external measures that are relevant to Otolaryngology will be evaluated and incorporated into Reg-ent on a continual basis. Any updates to the list of available Reg-ent measures may be found online. 5 QUALITY PERFORMANCE FOR MIPS 2017 MIPS MEASURES AVAILABLE IN REG-ENT Reg-ent offers a number of quality measures for 2017 MIPS reporting, including both AAO-HNSF developed and stewarded measures and external measures applicable to Otolaryngology. 6 REG-ENT: ENT CLINICAL DATA REGISTRY REG-ENT TECHNOLOGY MAKES PARTICIPATION SIMPLE Reg-ent uses a Registry Practice Connector (RPC) to access and transfer data from your EHR to the servers supporting Reg-ent with little to no impact on physician workflow. The RPC allows Reg-ent flexibility in mapping data elements required by the registry with minimal effort on the part of the practice. MEMBERSHIP Every otolaryngologist must be a member of AAO-HNS in order to participate in Reg-ent. Non-physician providers do not need to become members of the AAO-HNS to participate in Reg-ent. FEE STRUCTURE Application fee of $250 per provider (one-time only). Annual subscription fee of $295 per provider.
