3 SUBSPECIALTY INTEREST My main area of special interest that appeared during the later stages of training at Ain Shams University has been Arthroscopy and Joint Arthroplasty, mainly hip, and knee replacement. My experience in this area has been reinforced by the additional training and exposure to this field that I gained in the joint replacement unit-elhelal hospital-, and through working with different consultants proficient in the field of joint arthroplasty., particularly working with eminent surgeons at the Hospital For Special Surgery HSS,NY,USA During this period, I have learned different techniques in the management of problematic cases. I also attended various courses and workshops on Joint Arthroplasty. The fact that my M.D thesis was on Total hip replacement in proximal femoral deformity, helped me gain a better understanding of the principles involved in this field.
