17 Suspect an Overdose is Occurring? If the person is NOT breathing: 1) Tilt the person s head back and pinch the nose closed 2) Place your mouth over the person s mouth to make a seal and give 2 slow breaths (the chest should rise, but not the stomach) 3) Continue to give 1 breath every 5 seconds
