2 ENGINEERING ASSEMBLY AUTOMATION FEEDING TECHNOLOGY CANNULA BONDING MACHINES The qualification requirements to cannulas have reached a maximum level due to the great number of different requirements, e.g. administration of vaccinations and medication or taking blood samples. Feeding Technology The components are provided by the respective best supply technology. R+E produce the facilities in house and add their decades of know-how to the plant design. Cannula Feeding The cannulas are supplied to and inserted in the cannula holders with the proven R+E cannula separation. CANNULA BONDING IN ROTARY CYCLE Dosage Glue R+E uses precision dosage technology to apply the glue, permitting many adjustment parameters. All common glues like UV-hardening or epoxy resin glues are used. R+E cannula bonding machines of series MA-KK are the latest generation of high-performance systems. All quality requirements and tests of our customers have been considered and can be selected as modules. R+E assembly machines are used around the world. Performance data The R+E cannula bonding machines of series MA-KK are available in the following versions: Siliconising R+E developed dedicated spray or dab methods for cannula coating. Different silicon oil viscosities are possible. The R+E spray module is able to spray oil at a viscosity of 12,500 mpas. 3 Curing the Glue Curing is performed in once-through treatment with UV lamps, LED technology or in external once-through furnaces, depending on glue specification. Mark/Label All common methods, such as laser labelling, ink-jet printing or tampon printing, are used for marking or labelling. Orienting Cannulas Specifically for larger cannula diameters, turning out the cannula tip is necessary.

4 QUALITY AND COMPETENCE TO YOUR ADVANTAGE Visual Inspections To ensure compliance with the customer requirements, R+E developed camera inspection to examine the cannula tip at a throughput speed of 600 mm/sec. The cannula tip can be examined for contaminations, sharpness or damage. Inspection of the glue point for shape and air inclusions is performed with the same method. Tensile Test The glue point hardness is inspected for tension or pressure according to the DIN values. The tension forces can be selected freely via weights. Flow Rate Test Contamination or damage inside the cannulas are detected with a vacuum test (pressure difference method). All of the measured values are documented. CONSISTENT SECURE TECHNOLOGY Our principle is to provide well-designed, tried-and-tested systems and also to integrate new ideas into the respective functions of feeding and assembly technology. R+E machines and systems are aligned to customer requirements optimally through a pre-qualifying procedure. Product-specific risk analyses are drawn up as early as the design and project-planning phase. Clear, comprehensible design documents ensure efficient, on-schedule execution of the project. If necessary, we supply clearly-structured qualification documentation, adapted to the specific customer requirements.
