2 OUR APPROACH TO PORTION GUIDANCE As a leader in nutrition, health and wellness, Nestlé aims to help consumers make thoughtful food and beverage choices. We believe that all foods can fit into a balanced diet and that regular physical activity is essential. However, navigating food and beverage choices can often be a challenge. That s why we re taking leadership and providing guidance about proper portions. Across our portfolio, we offer delicious, portion-controlled options. We also provide helpful tools, such as an online pizza portion guide. In addition to making wise portion choices, we encourage consumers to enjoy more fruits and vegetables at meal and snack times. Our new program, Balance Your Plate, helps consumers find unique ways to integrate more nutrition throughout the day, while managing portions and calorie intake. We empower consumers to enjoy great-tasting and satisfying foods in portion-controlled amounts and believe these efforts will help individuals and families manage their calorie intake and maintain a healthier weight. It is our philosophy that pleasure, balance and moderation are essential for a nutritious and balanced diet.
