2 Director s Message The State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2017 (July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2017) annual report offers a broad overview of the services purchased by the Fairfield County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health (ADAMH) Board and the activities it has undertaken. It is presented in the framework of a Continuum of Care Model. Statutorily, the Board is responsible for providing an array of mental health and substance misuse prevention/education, treatment, and recovery supports in Fairfield County. These services are commonly referred to as a Continuum of Care. The concept is simple: promote wellness, prevent illness when possible, identify potential disorders and intervene at the earliest possible point, provide treatment in the amount and duration needed, provide supports to facilitate recovery, and identify strategies to maintain recovery. The final list of what is purchased and/or provided depends upon community interest and need, availability of funds, and availability of a provider agency. Several grants of significance to note in SFY 2017 include closing out the federal Harold Rogers Prescription Drug Monitoring Grant and the state Drug Free Workforce Initiative Grant.
