5 WA Health s approach to prevention Through a whole of population approach, focussed on: people who are currently well those who are at risk of developing disease or experiencing injury (Aboriginal, rural/remote and low SES, CaLD) Responsibility for prevention distributed across the WA Health system: Chronic Disease Prevention Directorate (state-wide policy and procurement role) Population Health Units within Area Health Services (Metro/regional local level policy and program delivery) Other areas (e.g. Aboriginal Health, Health Networks, Child and Adolescent Health, Mental Health Commission, Drug and Alcohol Office, Epidemiology, Environmental Health, DMP)
