1 Miami-Dade County HIV/AIDS Epidemiological Data July 8, 21 Data provided by the Florida Department of Health HIV/AIDS Surveillance Program Prepared by Behavioral Science Research EPI DATA HELPS US Fulfill the Partnership s legislative responsibility to determine the size and demographics of the Miami-Dade epidemic by: Providing the most current snapshot available of the epidemic at a particular point in time including: Newly diagnosed cases of HIV and AIDS in 29 Prevalence of HIV and AIDS cases in 29 Examined by race/ethnicity, gender, age and exposure category Examining and understanding the epidemiological data is the first of five required components of the community needs assessment process.
