OUR MISSION Posi ve birth experiences and informed paren ng in a community where parents are supported and highly valued in their role. OUR STRATEGIC THEMES Our over-arching strategic theme is building successful Centres. We will create, build, sustain and grow our Centres by: Enabling and suppor ng Centres Empowering our volunteers Valuing our volunteers Suppor ng Centres to add value to their membership. OUR MEASURES OF SUCCESS We know we have been successful when we meet the following: Volunteers understand and ac vely par cipate as part of a na onal organisa on Centres, centre networks and the services that are delivered, however they are structured, meet the needs of their community Membership across the organisa on is increasing and our Centres are mee ng their community need Parents Centres is a financially sustainable organisa on Strong, robust communica on processes are understood and u lized Centres understand what mo vates volunteers. Volunteers are recognised and rewarded frequently. WORKING TOGETHER GOVERNANCE NATIONAL SUPPORT CENTRE A comprehensive team who will enable and support Centres to be the best they can be Develops and delivers Parent Educa on and Childbirth Educa on resources to Centres and also delivers na onal services where applicable Technology and marke ng focused Builds resources and processes to support Centres Develops and builds capability of volunteers Delivers the informa on volunteers and Centres need to be successful Ambassadors and innovators for the movement Build strategic partner rela onships that benefit the organisa on and our members Publish New Zealand s leading paren ng magazine Navigators for change in the paren ng environment Sets strategy for the organisa on and navigates for change Listens and hears Centres, volunteers and the community Undertakes responsibility for statutory compliance and fiduciary responsibility Is a role model for Centre governance Coming together as part of a na onal movement with the same DNA, we all believe that: paren ng is everything and great parents grow great kids. THEME ONE: THE NATIONAL SUPPORT CENTRE WILL ENABLE CENTRES Each Centre opera ng autonomously through effec ve, mely, accurate and current informa on; marke ng processes that with assist local marke ng ini a ves and common processes Support Centres to use technology to create a 21st Century organisa on Provide current and relevant volunteer professional development to equip volunteers with the necessary knowledge and skills to run effec ve Centres and to be navigators for change in their community Ensure informa on for Centres and volunteers is easily available and accessible, accurate, easy to understand and relevant. THEME TWO: THE NATIONAL SUPPORT CENTRE WILL EMPOWER CENTRES Having robust na onal processes that are easily and consistently replicated at Centre level Crea ng an environment that celebrates innova on and where ini a ves thrive Create a belief that volunteers can make a difference through par cipa on in the na onal organisa on Ensure communica on channels are established which allow for regular exchange of informa on, genuine consulta on and joint involvement in decision making. THEME THREE: PARENTS CENTRES NEW ZEALAND INC WILL ENCOURAGE THE VALUE OF VOLUNTEERING Valuing the volunteer perspec ve by building the framework for na onal projects; consulta on on our strategic plan; delivery of AGM; input into and development of the Cons tu on Create on going opportunity for personal development and growth tailored to the needs of today s volunteers Create a project culture where everyone can be involved and have their say Foster a culture of communica on Support Centres to build strong commi ees which value individual s contribu ons Support Centres to foster a culture where Centres support Centres and parents as volunteers support parents in the community.
