1 The Scott Center for Autism Treatment Naming Opportunities Autism affects one in 68 children born in the United States. As a result of their experiences with their son, Reece, diagnosed with autism at age four, Ed and Cheryl Scott saw the need for a center that would provide the most up-to-date and effective autism services and training. Therefore in 2009, they gave a major gift to Florida Tech to establish what is now called the Scott Center for Autism Treatment. Ed and Cheryl did not want other families to face the same plight they had when they discovered that there were few resources to help their son after his diagnosis. They believed that the Florida Institute of Technology was the perfect home for a leading center to provide best practices treatment for children and their families, while also conducting research to improve treatment, and educating the next generation of outstanding professionals. Today, in addition to providing clinical services, the Scott Center for Autism Treatment trains graduates who go on to work all over the world. And the Scott Center s research advances the development of the best treatment protocols. And most importantly, the Scott Center makes a difference in the lives of hundreds of individuals and their families each year. In order to continue and to advance the efforts of the Scott Center, we offer the following naming opportunities. The gifts given to all of these will be used to grow the endowment of the Center and ensure its ability to thrive and grow in impact. Total Goal: $2.015 million
