There were 379 people living with HIV (PLWH) in this area as of the end of 16. This includes only people with diagnosed infections with a current address in this area. People with undiagnosed HIV are not included. In 16, 9 people were newly diagnosed with HIV. In the Abilene HSDA, 66% of total PLWH have achieved viral suppression, and 87% of PLWH who are retained in care achieved viral suppression. Retention in care is a priority area. 83% of PLWH had at least one episode of HIV care & treatment. This means roughly 8 1 PLWH were in care. 66% of PLWH were virally.
