10 VISP Cohort Model UW Madison departments interested in bringing in an international group from abroad to participate in a defined curriculum of instruction or coursework in a prescribed department(s). A Cohort is considered viable when 10+ students are sought Can be from multiple countries/institutions These can be undergraduates, graduates, or dissertators Do not have to be currently enrolled in an institution Bulk of coursework must be in department OR School/College if joint departmental effort Our VISP Students get guaranteed access into courses they want we like this! 14 Revenue Sharing Model All VISP students pay same International Rate based on undergraduate tuition rate 80% of Gross Tuition (subtract segregated fees) transferred to school or college Check with school and college Dean s office to ensure how they will transfer to department Cohort Model Impact since 2013:$7,718,663 back to campus Students must be full-time for visa purposes Fall 2018 Undergraduate Level Tuition + Fees: $18,902; Graduate Level $12, Revenue Scholarships can be determined by department Estimated Living $7,044 (fixed) We can admit at undergraduate, graduate, and dissertator level for all terms

18 DCS International Programs Growth Agenda Case: Summer Non-Credit: Advance Credit: VISP Political Science Cohort (CBNU + NJU) 4 week session, PS 401 (Int l Development & Cooperation) Partner Development through faculty Scholarship Programming Our share of the VISP revenue more than covered our instructional and other costs. The 9 UW students, meanwhile, provided extra revenue through the summer budget model. In short, our first VISP cohort was an academic and financial success...in short, for year 2, we're focused on strategic expansion that will offer an excellent educational experience and lay the foundation for significant surplus revenue in the future (and quite possibly in 2019). - JZ
