2 Candidates must be: Page 1 1. Between the ages of years of age. 2. A single female never had any children, no co-habitation, never been married. 3. An enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. 4. Of good moral character. Please attach the following with your application: 1. Certified Copy of your Oglala Sioux Tribe enrollment verification. 2. Three (3) letters of character recommendations (Teachers, Instructors, District Representatives, anyone other than immediate family members, non-relative of contestant; please attach address and phone numbers as we will be contacting these individuals). 3. Picture of yourself. Criteria points will be awarded for the following: Participation Public Speaking Interview Talent/Skill (Contemporary and Traditional) Dance Wednesday August 2nd, 2017: 5:00pm Potluck OST Council Chambers, Pine Ridge, SD. Contestants will be required to participate and bring a dish to the potluck dinner. You will be awarded points for your participation. Contestants will be interviewed and present their Talent/Skill (Contemporary and Traditional) in the OST Tribal Council Chambers Pine Ridge, SD. Thursday August 3rd, 2017: 5:30pm Public Speaking & Dance Competition Pow wow grounds. **Every Session all contestants will be required to participate in the Oglala Lakota Nation Grand Entry and Wacipi. You will be awarded points for your participation. Saturday August 5th, 2017: 11:00am Contestants will be required to participate in the Oglala Lakota Nation Parade, Pine Ridge, SD. You will be awarded points for your participation. 5:00pm Crowning of newly selected royalty. Contestant Application

That if the preceding requirements are not met and submitted by the established deadline; I may be disqualified for the Royalty Competition. 2. That if I should become with child, found in an elicit cohabitation relationship or enter into marriage I will be required to forfeit my title and turn in my crown and sash. (In the unlikely event that this should occur, the runner-up will be crowned for the remaining reign.) 3. SOCIAL MEDIA : Must have good standards of conduct on social media. With respect to any disputes arising it will be brought forward for sanctions and possible removal. 4. Must be willing to come forward when called upon for public engagements on behalf of the Oglala Lakota Nation. 5. All decisions made by the Royalty Committee and Judges are final.
