1 Indo-US Health Initiatives Projects and activities in association with Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (S-VYASA)
2 A brief report of events and activities in USA for the promotion of Yoga and Ayurveda It is said that Swami Vivekananda, the great saint from India who spread the message of peace and harmony in the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893, wished to create a research center in Boston to promote Vedic Sciences such as Yoga and Ayurveda. Our long-term goal is to establish the Boston Center for Excellence (BCoE) for Health and Human Development to do research and development, positioning and promotion of Yoga and Ayurveda in mainstream Health Care system globally. Indo-US Health Initiatives (IUHI) and S-VYASA (Bengaluru) has forged a partnership and has taken a very bold and historic step with the experts, research scientists and institutes such as Harvard Medical School, Mass General Hospital, Spaulding Rehabilitation Center, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Johns Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston University, Institute for Advanced Sciences and many more.
3 About Indo-US Health Initiatives (IUHI): The world is going through a healthcare crisis. In many places around the globe, the triple challenges of affordability, accessibility, and quality are impacting the health of millions. We believe that proper application of latest technologies can solve many of these problems. IUHI is bringing disruptive changes in various healthcare sectors, especially in India. The complex and large-scale health care challenges can be resolved only by bringing the best of both the worlds in terms of technology, process, research, knowledge, skills development and management.. Key focus areas of IUHI: Working on cutting-edge technology of Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence in various fields including continual medical education and pre-surgical planning, so that healthcare professionals in the developing world can get the required training with. limited resources. E-Health, portable diagnostic tools, latest training (doctors and nurses) methodologies via Integrative Medicine using both modern western as well as Indian traditional. systems such as Yoga and Ayurveda. Working on research projects for managing Opioid and other drug addiction, PTSD. and Cancer. Assisting in research of low cost and effective solutions for building artificial limbs that. can be fitted to the disabled and also low cost orthoscopic solutions. Stem cell therapy research to find the treatment of diseases such as Sickle Cell Anemia and Cancer.. Bringing together experts, scientists, and ancient knowledge from the East to find solutions for ailments like Diabetes, Alzheimer s, Cancer, and other non-communicable. diseases. Working with experts and the policy makers from India and the USA for Smart Healthy City solutions. Two international conferences were held at the Harvard Medical School, Boston in last two years to bring together experts and practitioners from mainstream medicine as well as Yoga and Ayurveda traditions.
