3 DSM-5 Update No Diagnosis Given Critical Priority: HIGH - Requires immediate attention; affects user experience Feature Specifications Modules/Areas Affected: DSM-5 Treatment Diagnosis Summary and Expected Outcomes: With this release, the DSM-5 Treatment Diagnosis module will now display an option for No Diagnosis Given. Additionally, all General Medical Conditions will now be labeled as Medical on the Diagnosis page. When does this change take place? Is it critical? Effective Date: Certification: 11/11/2015; Production: 11/18/2015 Who is affected, who will use? Roles/Programs/Lines of Business: Anyone that accesses the DSM-5 Treatment Diagnosis will see these updates. Configuration Information: No configuration is necessary. This functionality will be automatically deployed to CareLogic. Known Issue If No Diagnosis Given is selected first and then a General Medical Condition is entered that uses the same codes as No Diagnosis Given (ICD-9 code V71.09 and ICD-10 code Z03.89), a validation error displays. The message warns users that duplicate codes cannot be entered and that doing so will prevent diagnosis. If it is necessary to have the same codes in the General Medical Condition, create the General Medical Condition first, then select No Diagnosis Given. This workflow will not result in the validation error. As development continues on resolving this issue, updates will be communicated. Why should I use this? Benefits and Efficiencies: With this release, the DSM-5 Treatment Diagnosis module will have the option to add No Diagnosis Given for consumers that are assessed and do not have a clinical diagnosis. A medical diagnosis can still be given. This functionality will allow an ICD code to populate the claim for payers that require this for billing. 3

4 How do I use this? How do I make it work? How do I report on this? Instructions No Diagnosis Given has been added as a button at the top of the Diagnosis Table on the DSM-5 Treatment Diagnosis module. When No Diagnosis Given is selected, an informational message will appear at the top of the CareLogic window: Note: DSM-5 does not have a code listed for No Diagnosis Given. An ICD code will be used for billing purposes when No Diagnosis Given is selected. This message is informational only and will not stop a diagnosis from being entered. When No Diagnosis Given is selected, the ICD Column will be populated with V71.09 for ICD-9 and Z03.89 for ICD-10. These are the codes that will be entered on the claim for consumers who have the No Diagnosis Given selected. The ICD-10 code will display on the Diagnosis page. Selecting the diagnosis line will show the detail of ICD-9 and ICD-10 if dual functionality is enabled. The No Diagnosis Given option is not available as a selection in the DSM-5 search and select, as these are not DSM-5 codes 4

5 When No Diagnosis Given is selected, the No Diagnosis Given button will no longer be available. No additional Mental Health diagnoses can be added. At this point, only General Medical Conditions can be added as diagnoses. After selecting Add, the Diagnosis Entry page will display the General Medical Condition as selected, and the checkbox cannot be unselected. In order to add a Mental Health Diagnosis, the No Diagnosis Given line must be deleted. Once deleted, the functionality returns to normal and all diagnoses can be entered. Medical Label With this release, all General Medical Conditions will be labeled Medical on the Diagnosis page. This will help distinguish between the ICD-10 code that is assigned to No Diagnosis Given and other ICD-10 Codes. Face Sheet On the Face Sheet, and any place that the DSM-5 Treatment Diagnosis module is displayed, the corresponding Z or V code will be displayed. Reporting With this release, all reporting tables will display the corresponding Z or V code in the Diagnosis field if No Diagnosis Given is selected on the DSM-5 Treatment Diagnosis module. 5
