3 Project Need and Scope ¾ The Greater Boston and southern New Hampshire region has significant electric demand ¾ ISO-NE System Studies since 2008 have identified potential overloads on existing transmission lines ¾ National Grid/Eversource Solution set, including the Woburn to Wakefield Line Project, will solve reliability needs and create over $500M investment in MA and NH. ¾ The Woburn to Wakefield Line Project is a new underground 345-kV line through Wakefield, Stoneham, Woburn, and Winchester, MA 3

5 Wakefield Woburn Cable Project Description and estimated Tax Revenues Town of Wakefield Portion of the project ¾ 3.43 miles of underground duct bank with ~ one mile portion of the route in an inactive MBTA rail bed ¾ New equipment installs and electrical work within fence line at the existing Wakefield Junction substation Costs and potential Tax Revenues ¾ Est. $58.5 million infrastructure Investment with an estimated $1.58 million tax revenue for Wakefield in first year after in service (2019) ¾ Est. $7.3 million cumulative tax revenue first five years after in service 5
