About The Meeting This course is designed to provide a practical, clinically oriented review of oncologic imaging. A multidisciplinary team of radiologists and an oncologist has been brought together to review the fundamentals of common tumors in the chest, abdomen and pelvis. Topics will include anatomy, epidemiology and imaging characteristics. In addition, faculty will discuss a variety of imaging methods for tumor detection, criteria for treatment response and treatment options. Information acquired during the symposium is designed to improve diagnostic capabilities and assessment of tumor response. Target Audience This CME activity is designed to educate Radiologists, Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, and Surgical Oncologists, as well as others who have an interest in oncologic imaging and patient management. Educational Objectives Attendees should, at the completion of this course, be able to: Analyze clinical designs of therapeutic trials and use of imaging, utilizing CT, MRI and PET/CT. Indicate what the oncologist needs to know from imaging studies. Describe the role of imaging in the diagnosis, treatment and response assessment of common cancers. Recognize a multidisciplinary approach to tumor diagnosis, patient management and response assessment. Discuss the diagnosis, treatment and management of lung cancers. Explain challenges in diagnosing and treating pancreatic, hepatic, colon and pancreatic cancers. Evaluate future imaging technologies in diagnosing and managing common tumors. No special educational preparation is required for this CME activity. Educational Symposia designates this live activity for a maximum of 18.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) TM.
