John Farnham I was born in the UK in 1949, and migrated to Australia in My first band was called The Mavericks. My manager used to be a member of Australian band Masters Apprentices. I was named Australian of the Year in My last #1 Australian single was written by Johanna Piggot and Todd Hunter. (Age of Reason) I won six of the inaugural 1987 ARIA Music Awards for 'Album of the Year', 'Single of the Year', 'Highest Selling Album', 'Highest Selling Single', 'Best Male Artist' and 'Best Adult Contemporary Album'. I was the lead singer of the Little River Band from My second commercially successful recording was a cover of Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head I retired from performing in 2002 but have since made a number of come backs and have continued to perform regularly including the recent Hay Mate: Buy a Bale concert for Australian farmers. The title of one of my most successful albums was inspired when someone incorrectly introduced me as Jack Phantom. (Whispering Jack) 2. Robert Forster (The GoBetweens) I was born in Brisbane in My first band was called The Mosquitoes. My wife s name is also the name of one of my first singles. (Karen) I described the early sound of my most famous band as being like the sound of striped sunlight. I once famously wore a dress on stage that was not well received by my US record company. Blake Carrington is one of my heroes and I once had my hair died grey in tribute. I was in a relationship with the drummer of our band and she provided the inspiration for many of my early songs. My most recent solo album was called Songs to Play. Our 1988 single was recently voted the most popular Brisbane song by readers of the Guardian. My songwriting partner was Grant McLennan. 1

My song "Receive the Power" written with Gary Pinto was chosen as the official anthem for the Roman Catholic Church's XXIII World Youth Day (WYD08) held in Sydney in 2008 I was the winner of Australian Idol in 2003 I performed as the Australian entrant for Eurovision in Bernard Fanning (Powderfinger) I was born in Toowong (Qld) in I released 5 studio albums with my band between 1989 and I was songwriter of the year in 2004 and I have released 4 solo albums, the first of which was in 2005 when my band was in hiatus. I have been an advocate for Reconciliation Australia and I run songwriting workshops for youths in detention in Brisbane. I once wrote a song called Black Tears following my visit to Uluru. I once performed a folk song called Moreton Bay for the film Ned Kelly. My first solo album was called Tea and Sympathy. One of my band s album was Dream Days at the Hotel Existence. Jessica Mauboy I was born in Darwin in 1989 to an Indonesian father and Indigenous Australian mother I am the first Indigenous artist to reach number one on the ARIA albums chart My album Been Waiting was the 2nd highest selling album in Australia in 2009 I have made 2 films - Bran Nue Dae and The Sapphires I currently play the lead character Billie Carter on TV show McLeods Daughter I was runner up on Australian Idol in 2006 I have performed at Eurovision on 2 occasions - in 2014 and 2018 I performed in honour of the original Sapphires at Support Act s Music in the House fundraiser in 2013! Renee Geyer I am an an Australian jazz, soul and RnB singer who was born in Melbourne in I have released 15 albums as a solo artist and provided backing vocals for Sting and Joe Cocker. My first band was called Dry Red and also featured Eric McUsker from Mondo Rock. I was signed to RCA Records in my early years but I actually had a deal whereby my records were recorded by Mushroom records. I spent 10 years living and working in the USA. My vocal style led people there to assume I was black when I released my first album in the late 70s. My 1994 solo album was produced by Paul Kelly. I was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in I wrote a biography in 2000 called Confessions of a Difficult Woman. My first chart success was in 1974 with an album entitled It s a Man s Man s World. SIA My first band was an acid jazz group called Crisp, from Adelaide I moved to London and sang for Zero 7 I appeared on South Park in one episode in 2014 and performed a parody song of Lorde I am a vegan I have written or performed on many film soundtracks, including The Hunger Games, Annie, Pitch Perfect 2 and Burlesque My first album was in 1997, my most recent in 2017 I have released 8 solo albums in total My performance at Coachella in 2016 received wide acclaim and was said to have been one of the finest moments in the festival s history My YouTube channel has over 10 million subscribers and my videos have been watched over 6 billion times I am known for my love of animals and animal charities but perhaps known most of all for not wanting to be recognised. 4
