DHYG 1239 This course is essential in providing knowledge of oral pathology and success in applying that knowledge to patient care. The dental hygiene student will learn to recognize lesions and conditions, describe them using professional terminology, through data collection, assist in the preliminary diagnosis of the lesion/condition identified. DHYG 2153 The main objectives of this course will be to create an understanding of the laws governing the practice of dentistry and dental hygiene and the ethical standards established by the
6 dental hygiene profession. The student will also learn about the dental hygienist's role in different practice settings including practice management, employment considerations, resume preparation, and job interviewing.
