Traditional instrument tips may not be considered ideal for recreating anatomy and dependant on the material they are made from they may cause the composite to stick to the end of the tip, making placement a challenge. It is important to reproduce the correct anatomy of the tooth for both aesthetics and function. The occlusal design is important for the proper functioning of the masticatory system.
