1 OFFICERS President: Michael H. Gold, MD, FAAD (USA) From Nashville, Tennessee (USA), Dr. Michael H. Gold is the founder and medical director of Gold Skin Care Center, Advanced Aesthetics Medical Spa, The Laser & Rejuvenation Center, and the Tennessee Clinical Research Center. Dr. Gold is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon who oversees the Center s operations; a combination of medical and surgical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, aesthetic services and research endeavors. Dr. Gold serves as Clinical Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in the Department of Dermatology as well as the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. Dr. Gold is also honored to serve as Visiting Professor Dermatology at Huashan Hospital of Fudan University in Shanghai China as well as the No 1 Hospital of China Medical University in Shenyang, China. Dr. Gold is a member of various Editorial Boards, both nationally and internationally, and works as an associate editor with the majority of dermatology journals. Dr. Gold actively contributes to the medical literature on a variety of dermatologic related topics. He has written over 300 medical articles, over 30 textbook chapters and has served as Editor of two textbooks in Dermatology. Dr. Gold has spent a great deal of his career lecturing and teaching on the national and international fronts, focusing on dermatology issues related to lasers and cosmetic dermatologic surgery. He has spent time lecturing in Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East, in addition to activities in the United States and Canada. Dr. Gold is an active member of leading dermatology and laser specialty societies and actively participates in meetings world-wide. Dr. Gold is the President of the Tennessee Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (TSLMS) and Treasurer of the American Society of Photodynamic Therapy. Dr. Gold serves on the board of the 5-Continent Congress (5CC) and is also a founding member of The Dermatologic and Aesthetic Surgery International League (DASIL) association which helps fulfill his legacy of teaching and giving back to this wonderful specialty. President-Elect: Sheldon V. Pollack, MD, FRCPC (Canada) Dr. Pollack is Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada with Board Certification in Dermatology both in Canada and the United States of America and over 30 years of professional practice. Having completed his medical education and residency at the University of Toronto (Canada) and his dermatologic surgery fellowship at the N.Y.U Medical Center (New York, NY, USA), Dr. Pollack was Assistant, then Associate Professor of Medicine (Dermatology) at the Duke University School of Medicine (Durham, NC, USA). Since 1990, he has been an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto (Canada) and Director of Dermatologic Surgery Training at that institution. Dr. Pollack has been an active participant in many professional societies that foster education in dermatologic surgery. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the Canadian 1

2 Dermatology Association. Dr. Pollack was a Founding Member of Association of Surgical Faculty and a Board of Directors member of the Association of Academic Dermatologic Surgeons. In 1991, he became the Founding President of the Canadian Society for Dermatologic Surgery which was established that year. In 1992, he was elected Vice President of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Pollack became President of the International Society for Dermatologic Surgery in 1994, the same year that the International Congress of Dermatologic Surgery was held in Toronto, Canada. He is proud to also be a founding member of DASIL. In addition, Dr. Pollack is Life Member of the Canadian Dermatology Foundation and is certified by the American Board of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology (American College of Chemosurgery) Dr. Pollack is a popular lecturer and speaks at meetings around the world on various surgical topics. He has written two textbooks and approximately seventy articles in medical journals serving as reviewer, member of the editorial board, editorial consultant, or editor of a number of the professional publications. His major interest lies in Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery, including Botox injections, dermal fillers, chemical peeling, scar treatment, lip enhancement, laser surgery, sclerotherapy and tumescent liposuction. Treasurer: Marc B. Röscher, MD, FAAD (South Africa) Dr. Röscher qualified in Medicine at the University of Pretoria in1992. Post-Graduate specialist training in Dermatology was also completed at the University of Pretoria in Dr. Röscher further completed post graduate masters training courses in Dermatological Surgery (University of Newcastle, UK) and Photodynamic Therapy (Nashville, TN, USA) and has been practicing at the Umhlanga Skin Centre Specialist Laser Clinic since His special interests include cancer and reconstructive skin surgery, laser surgery and procedural dermatology. Dr. Röscher was founder chairperson of the KZN IPA for 2 years since its inception. He is currently Director of Dermatological Surgery, Department of Dermatology, Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine, Durban, where he teaches dermatological surgery. Dr. Röscher serves on two international congress faculty boards (IMCAS, ISDS) and lectures annually at international conferences. Dr. Röscher is currently President of the South African Society for Dermatological Surgery. He is also member of the Dermatological Society of South Africa, American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatological Surgery. Dr. Röscher is Editor-in-Chief of the South African Journal of Dermatological Surgery. 2

3 BOARD OF DIRECTORS Maurice A. Adatto, MD (Switzerland) Born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland, Dr. Maurice A. Adatto is the founder and medical director of Skinpulse Dermatology, Laser and Beauty Centers. Dr. Adatto is a board certified dermatologist, as well as dermatologic and Mohs surgeon, trained in Marshfield, Wisconsin, USA. He is the initiator of Mohs surgery in Switzerland. Dr. Adatto also specializes in lasers and cosmetic dermatology serving as Laser Consultant at the University Hospital of Bern, one of the two largest hospitals in Switzerland. Dr. Adatto is Honorary Member of the European Society for Laser Dermatology, after having served as Vice President and President for 8 years. He is also the President of the first and second 5-Continent Congress, Laser & Aesthetic Medicine held in Nice in September 2009 and Cannes in September Dr. Adatto is also an active member of many national and international scientific societies, like AAD, ASDS, ASLMS etc. Dr. Adatto is a member of several Editorial Boards. He has written many scientific articles in well-renowned scientific journals focusing in dermatology, dermatologic surgery, laser and cosmetic surgery. Dr. Adatto dedicates an important amount of his time teaching, either at the University Hospital of Berne or by lecturing at international congresses. Henry Chan, MD, FAAD (Hong Kong SAR, China) Dr. Henry Chan is a private dermatologist. He is also currently Honorary Professor of Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, the University of Hong Kong and Visiting Scientist of the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. Dr. Chan is President of the Hong Kong Association of Specialists in Dermatology and Secretary-General of the Asian Dermatological Association. He was also Chairman of the Hong Kong Society of Dermatology and Venereology. Dr. Chan has headed the academic division of both The University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Since 1997, he has been Honorary Consultant Dermatologist of the Hong Kong Hospital Authority. He has published or accepted to be published over 200 articles including 1 book, 23 book chapters and 116 peer-reviewed international indexed publications. He is Associate Editor of Lasers in Surgery and Medicine and serves on the editorial board of several other international journals including the Dermatologic Surgery; Lasers in Medical Science, Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy and SKINmed Dermatology for the Clinician. Dr. Chan is the only non-american to be awarded the Ellet H. Dr.ake Lectureship Award by the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASMLS) for his contribution to laser surgery in 2010 and is actively involved with the Society, being the only Asian that has been session chairman for 3 ASLMS annual meetings. Dr. Chan was the recipient of the 2002 ASLMS Presidential Citation. Dr. Chan has successfully defended two Doctorate theses, the first one being awarded by the King s College of The University of London (The Use of Laser in the Treatment of Naevus of Ota), and the second one -- by the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of The University of Hong Kong). Dr. Chan has been invited as speaker at prestigious meetings including the annual meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology; the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery; the Japanese Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; International Society of Dermatology; International Academy for Cosmetic Dermatology and the International Master Course in Aging Skin. Joel L. Cohen, MD, FAAD (USA) Joel L. Cohen, MD is an internationally-recognized expert on skin cancer and aesthetics. He is the Director of AboutSkin Dermatology and DermSurgery in Englewood and Lone Tree, Colorado. Dr. Cohen was elected to serve as a national instructor in dermatologic surgical and aesthetic procedures by the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) for its ASDS Preceptorship Program. He serves on the volunteer faculty of the University of Colorado as an Associate Clinical Professor. Dr. Cohen is Past Chair of the ASDS Patient Education Committee ( ), and is Past President of the Colorado Dermatologic Society (2006). From and now again from 2009 to present, he serves on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery (ASCDAS). In 2005, he was the recipient of the ASDS Public Service Award, and in 2007 he received the ASCDAS Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Cohen has published over 108 medical articles and book chapters, and has co-authored the aesthetic textbook Aesthetic Rejuvenation: A Regional Approach. He is currently the single editor for a textbook on botulinum toxins for release in 2012, and is a co-editor for a skin cancer reconstruction textbook. In addition, he serves on the editorial staff for nine journals including Dermatologic Surgery, and is as the Case Report Editor for Journal of Dr.ugs in Dermatology. Dr. Cohen has been invited to speak at numerous national aesthetic and dermatologic meetings including the annual meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), American Academy of Facial Plastic Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, ASCDAS, American College of Mohs Surgery, Harvard s Aesthetic Course 2010 and 2011, Skin Disease Education Foundation, Maui Derm/Advances in Cosmetic and Medical Dermatology, and others. Moshe Lapidoth, MD, FAAD (Israel) Dermatologist, Head of the Laser Unit, Dermatology Dep., Rabin Medical Center, Israel Vice President of the European Society of Laser in Dermatology( ESLD). Dr. Moshe Lapidoth is the Head, Laser Unit and Senior Physician, Department of Dermatology, Rabin Medical Center, Israel from 1997 and a member of the faculty and the board of Tel-Aviv University, Sackler school of medicine. Dr.Lapidoth has graduated from Hebrew University - Hadassah School of Medicine ( ) and from Israel Specialty Boards in Dermatology (1992) and obtained Master's Degree in Public Health from Hadassah School of Medicine, Jerusalem (2005). Leonardo Marini, MD, FAAD, FEADV (Italy) Leonardo Marini, dermatologist and surgeon, has been director of the Skin Doctors Center--Clinic specialized in Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery in Trieste--since He is Past President of the European Society for Laser Dermatology (ESLD) and the European Society of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology (ESCAD). He is honorary President of the Hellenic Society of Dermatological Surgery (HSDS) and a member of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), where he s been appointed vice chairman of the Task Force for Laser Dermatology. Martin, MD, FAAD (USA) Dr. George Martin is a native of Philadelphia. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Martin received his medical degree from the Temple School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and his dermatology residency at UCLA. He is American Board Certified in both dermatology and internal medicine. Dr. Martin has practiced clinical dermatology in Maui since He has been a clinical preceptor for numerous medical students and residents and has received several teaching awards. As a practicing clinician, clinical investigator, and internationally recognized lecturer his current areas of interest include chemoprevention, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, acne and connective tissue disorders. Dr. Martin has published in several medical and scientific journals. He is founder and program chairman of the internationally recognized dermatology meeting: Maui Derm : Advances in Cosmetic and Medical Dermatology. Dr. Martin is also co-founder of the key thought leaders meeting in rheumatology: Rheumatology Winter Clinical Symposium. His interest in evidence based medicine led to his creation of the Delphi-based Consensus Conferences in the areas of psoriasis, acne, atopic dermatitis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Dimitra Ntasiou-Plakida, MD (Greece) From Volos, Greece, Europe, Dr. Ntasiou is the medical director of Derma Clinic, a Dermatology, Dermatologic and Aesthetic Surgery Centre. Fellow of the Hellenic Society of Dermatology and Venereology counts over 30 years of professional life having completed her medical education at the Medical School of Aristoteles University of Thessaloniki, fellowship in general surgery at Achilopoulion Hospital of Volos and her 5

6 dermatology fellowship at the A. Syggros University Hospital. In 1986, Dr. Ntasiou completed training in dermatologic surgery at Saint-Louis Dermatologic Hospital in Paris and training in Liposuction and Lipofilling surgery with Dr. Pierre Fournier. Since 2007, she has been Director of Dermatologic Surgery Training at the Dermatology Department of Evangelismos Hospital in Athens. In 1991, Dr. Ntasiou became the Founding President of the Hellenic Society for Dermatologic Surgery, which was established that year, and has been re-elected President of the above Society for three 2-year terms. She is for a second time Board member of the International Society for Dermatologic Surgery and in 1999 was President of the Annual Meeting of the ISDS, held in Athens. She is a member of the European Academy of Dermatology & Venereology and Mentor of the International Travelling Mentorship Program of the ASDS/ISDS. Dr. Ntasiou is editor of the journal Hellenic Dermatologic Surgery, author of medical articles and textbook chapters. She has spent a great deal of her career lecturing and teaching on the national and international forums. Atchima Suwanchinda, MD (Thailand) Dr. Atchima Suwanchinda completed her medical education at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in Bangkok Thailand obtaining her Master s Degree in Dermatology at the Boston University Medical School (Boston, MA, USA). She worked under Barbara Gilchrist M.D., Amal K.Kurban M.D., and Thomas Rohrer, M.D. being also the first trainee in fellowship training in laser and dermatologic surgery in at Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University in Thailand. For the past 15 years, Dr. Suwanchinda has been a staff and consultant in laser and dermatologic surgery at the International Training Center in Laser Surgery at Ramathibodi University Hospital. She has taught hundr.eds of dermatologists from around the Asian region. She is one of the pioneer dermatologic surgery and laser physicians including one of a few Mohs surgeons in Thailand. In addition, she is a mentor at The ASDS / ISDS International Dermatologic Surgery Educational Mentorship Exchange Program, USA. Dr. Suwanchinda has been well known as the first and a highly-experienced laser surgeon using ablative Erbium YAG laser resurfacing on Asian skin. She is a lecturer and keynote speaker at many dermatologic meeting nationally and internationally on laser and cosmetic dermatologic surgery in Asians and integrative treatment in cosmetic surgery. She is also key opinion leader in many laser and non-laser devices for skin rejuvenation on Asian skin. Dr. Suwanchinda is the founder and medical director of Medisci Medical Center, Biointegrative Antiaging and Cosmetic Center affiliated with International Training Center in Laser Surgery, Ramathibodi University Hospital, where she has conducted some clinical researches. She is an active and dedicated member of the International Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ISDS), having served as Congress President at the 2 nd Spring Meeting of the International Society for Dermatologic Surgery in Bangkok, Thailand in She was also one of the organizing committee members and the Scientific Program Chair at the 3 rd Spring Meeting of the International Society for Dermatologic Surgery in Bali, Indonesia, and is serving on the Scientific Committee of the 3rd International Bangkok Congress on Anti- Aging and Regenerative Medicine (BCAARM) and the 1st International Thai Cosmetic Dermatology Congress on Aesthetic Medicine (ITCAM). Her goal is to ingenuously share experiences, learn and teach including building friendship bonds between dermatologic surgeons around the world to bring us close together. Waldorf, MD, FAAD (USA) As Director of Laser and Cosmetic Dermatology at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, NY and Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Heidi A. Waldorf, M.D. is a respected expert in the field of dermatology, including skin rejuvenation and laser technology, as well as skin cancer prevention and treatment. After graduating magna cum laude from Harvard University, Dr. Waldorf received her medical degree from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine. After completing her internship training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and residency in the Department of Dermatology at Harvard University School of Medicine, Dr. Waldorf completed a fellowship program in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Laser Surgery and Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Waldorf has been published extensively in professional journals and books on laser surgery, dermatologic surgery and general dermatology and is an editor of Cosmetic Dermatology. She is the author of 13 articles, 10 book chapters and writes a regular column for Dove.com regarding varied health and beauty issues. Dr. Waldorf is a nationally and internationally recognized researcher and lecturer and has served as Director of various symposiums on aesthetic dermatology and dermatologic surgery. For four years she served as Director of the Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Symposium at the annual American Academy of Dermatology meetings. Her research includes her clinical investigations involving the use of lasers, BOTOX and filling agents for the treatment of various skin conditions.
