1 What another great month! We had so much fun learning from Musculoskeletal Therapist, Sam Minkin and we had even more fun sharing the content with you. Now that "Musculoskeletal May" is over, keep an eye our for... "Immune June!" It's starting to get colder, which means flu season is upon us. Find out how you can keep healthy this winter by following along with our Facebook updates, or asking us in class. (Hint: physical activity and yummy, healthy food) Have you noticed all the funky 50 Plus Fitter shirts which are being worn around the gym lately? We wanted to show off how much we love gym by introducing some club shirts and it turns out that everyone loves gym as much as we do! If you would like to purchase one for yourself, speak to us in class and we can order you one too! ($20 per shirt and they are super comfy). We hope to begin wearing them together as we participate in charity fun walks. We have missed a few great walks this year, but if you are interested in participating in any charity fun walks (2.5 km) then we want to hear from you. Lastly we wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported us by "liking" and interacting with us on Facebook. It's a great tool for us to communicate class updates, share any tips or facts we want you to know, show off our classes and most importantly, get the word out that "it's never too late to start moving." 2 Another great month for our Redcliffe Family as it doubled in size. Thanks to all your feedback and suggested class times, I was able to confirm additional classes and now run a session everyday Monday through to Friday! Check out our new class times below: We were so excited to be approached by Tenielle from Essential Bowen who offered up a space in her clinic at 4pm on Thursdays for me to run classes for 50 Plus Fitter. The space is beautiful and smaller than our hired halls, perfect for a gentle class which provides more time to focus on balance and stretch activities. It has been a pleasure working from Tenielle' s clinic. She offers great services from Bowen Therapy and Laughter Yoga, with the space also being utilized for medatitive yoga. Her positivity and laughter is infectious as we discovered when she joined in for our first Thursday class. This month I also had the pleasure of being invited to speak for the Redcliffe Community Bus group about the benefits of exercise. It was a fantastic opportunity to give back to the community and share my passion for older adults health. I look forward to being invited back for afternoon tea with them all again soon. -Abby Lovett

3 This month has also brought us back to the Sikh Community in which this time I was able to share with Abby. It s so nice to be able to share what we do with so many people even if our visits are few and far between, we hope to pick up more of these classes so we can share our fun and love for gymnastics with different communities. Abby managed to tackle a group of 40 Cantonese men and women and lead them through a fun and exciting 30min session to introduce them to gymnastics and show that gymnastics really is for everyone. These group sessions are set up by Diversicare, despite the language barrier, we communicated through joint laughter and it was amazing to see so many smiles in the group. 6 HOW TO PLAY: The objective is to fill a 9x9 rid so that each column, each row, and each of the 3x3 boxes contains the digits 1 to 9. A cell is the smallest block in the game. A row, column and region consists on 9 cells and the whole game consists of 81 cells. A region (3x3) is outlined to make it easier to play the game.
